Impact Wrestling Results (4/28/2022)

Violent By Design open the show. Eric Young says if you’re being honest, there’s nothing that you or any team can do about them. We keep proving you wrong. This world doesn’t belong to you, it belongs to us. Here come Heath & Rhino, the team they defeated at Rebellion to win the gauntlet.

Rhino says he still hears Eric’s voices in the back of his head, from when he brainwashed him, so they have unfinished business. Retribution is not the only thing they want… they want those tag team titles. The Briscoe Brothers! Dem boys are here in the Impact zone. Jay says they are in the house. Speaking of unfinished business, if you didn’t think they’d come back after Multiverse, then you’re crazy as hell.

Everywhere they have been, they have won titles, and it’s going to be no different here. Heath welcomes them to Impact Wrestling. He’s excited to see these guys. First off, Impact is a new world, so he & Rhino are at the front of the line, and they are in the back. Jay says they don’t get in the back of the line for nobody. Heath says they be damned if they let them get in the way.

EY says this looks like a you problem, and not an us problem. You sort this out between yourselves, and whoever is left standing, they will be waiting on them. Looks like we have a #1 contenders match for the tag team titles. Rhino is damn sure they are going to kick their asses right here, right now. Here comes a referee, which makes this match official.

#1. [#1 Contender for the Impact World Tag Team Championship] The Briscoe Brothers vs. Rhino & Heath — Winners: The Briscoes

“EGV” is coming. When? Who knows.

#2. VSK vs. Bhupinder Gujjar — Winner: Bhupinder Gujjar

Shera & Raj Singh show up and have words with Gujjar. Shera slams VSK to impress him enough to join their cause, but we’ll have to wait. Meanwhile, Ace Austin is backstage.

The new X-Division champion lets us know this is his third time, and he did it all on his own. The proof is strapped around his waist. Rocky Romero congratulates him on making history, and thinks he would be great in one of New Japan’s junior tournaments.

Austin likes the idea, but wants Romero to get off his set. Rocky says he’d like a shot next week, but Austin tells him to get in line and he doesn’t make the matches. Rocky is sure he can make that official after talking to D’Amore. Mike Bailey tries congratulating Austin, but the champ refuses to shake his hand.

#3. Honor No More’s Eddie Edwards, Mike Bennett & Matt Taven vs. Mike Bailey & Motor City Machine Guns — Winners: Honor No More

Bullet Club are here and get in to a fight with Honor No More! They take them out and stand tall in the ring.

Taya Valkyrie has had a lot of time to reflect after seeing her creativity be controlled and stifled. She is glad to be back to stand with everyone here in Impact. Taya knows her worth and sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to find the motivation to reach the top again. And that is exactly what she did at Rebellion when she took out the “champ champ” and became a four-time AAA Reina de Reinas Champion.

Deonna Purrazzo attacks her from behind! She locks in a submission and Decay enter to spoil her assault. The ROH champ slyly gets out of dodge. Rosemary looks in to Valkyrie’s eyes. The last time they were on TV together, Rosemary gave her a heartfelt farewell. Unluckily, before anything can be said, Knockouts Champion Tasha Steelz is here to steal the spotlight.

#4. Decay’s Rosemary & Havok vs. Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans — Winners: Decay

“It’s All About Me” returns! The Influence has upgraded the set. They have cleansed the locker room of The IInspiration and Kaleb as there’s not enough room in the spotlight. The lights go off, and when they come back on, Gisele Shaw is stood there. Madison Rayne asks if she is stalking her? She wants a match with Tenille next week, which Madison accepts on her behalf.

Vincent reintroduces us to the revived PCO, and next week we will have Monster’s Ball. PCO cuts a one-word promo while twitching uncontrollably: “JONAAAAAH!!!”

#5. [Impact World Championship] Josh Alexander (c) vs. Moose — Winner: Josh Alexander

Afterwards, Tomohiro Ishii enters and gets in to a stare down with the Impact World Champ. Looks like we have a new challenger for Josh Alexander.
