Impact Wrestling Results (5/19/2022)

#1. [Ultimate X Qualifier] Laredo Kid vs. ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey — Winner: Mike Bailey

– Ace Austin is in Japan, gloating about writing history as the first X-Champion Champion to compete in New Japan’s Best of Super Juniors tournament. He has already won the first match, but don’t worry, it won’t stop him from returning home and winning Ultimate X.

– Josh Alexander is backstage and can hear a faint “TNA” chant. He follows it until he comes across something with a sheet over it. Underneath is a case with the “TNA” logo on it, and then they cut to a Slammiversary promotion. Could Total Nonstop Action be returning at the PPV?

#2. Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans & Deonna Purrazzo vs. Taya Valkyrie, Jordynne Grace & Mia Yim — Winners: Valkyrie, Grace & Yim with Eat Defeat

Welcome back to Locker Room Talk with Madison Rayne and co-host Tenille Dashwood. They love the energy in the locker room. Especially now The IInspiration are gone. Dashwood asks where that creepy guy is? Madison says he apparently didn’t show up for work today. Oh! Here comes Johnny Swinger, daddy, with Zicky Dice. This segment is going down quickly as Decay teleport in and turn this in to a freak show.

Decay tell Rayne & Dashwood they have not beaten them yet. Dashwood says usually people have to win their match to get a shot, but all they did was lose. Zicky Dice says he remembers Havok from the dungeon, and she pushes him on to Swinger’s crown jewels. He & Dice get out of there to sort him out. Madison Rayne thanks us for watching the show, and hopefully next time they have security figured out.

– Backstage, Chris Sabin says he is disappointed he won’t get to face Josh Alexander at Slammiversary. But it’s fine, he has another idea in mind. There was one rival he had in TNA’s early days. He remembers for them talking about the future. All these years later, the time is now to see it happen. Sabin challenges Frankie Kazarian to a match at Slammmiversary.

– Eric Young tells us a story about going to WrestleMania 3 and seeing Randy Savage vs. Ricky Steamboat. He thinks wow, wouldn’t that be cool if he could do that someday. Young tells us how he got in to the business, and getting on TNA as part of Team Canada with Bobby Roode.

At times he thought he might get fired, but kept going. Young takes us through all the versions of himself, and says he made it all work. He once worked for an old man who couldn’t see past his nose and discarded him like garbage. This is the Eric Young he was meant to be. It’s a mission statement and the truth. The world doesn’t belong to you. It belongs to me.

#3. The Good Brothers vs. Matt Taven & Mike Bennett — Winners: The Good Brothers with the Gun Stun after Bennett speared Maria

#4. Masha Slamovich vs. Shawna Reed — Winner: Masha Slamovich

The lights go out. It’s Havok of Decay! She wants a piece of Slamovich. They have a long staredown. I wouldn’t be surprised if they collide at Slammiversary. After the break, Impact announces that Havok vs. Slamovich will happen on next week’s episode.

#5. [World Tag Team Championship] The Briscoes (c) vs. Violent By Design’s Joe Doering & Deaner (w/ Eric Young) — Winners: The Briscoes

Violent By Design attack them after the bell. Here comes the World Champion Josh Alexander to make the save. He clears out Deaner & Doering before getting in to a stare down with Eric Young, who seems intrigued by him. Young distracts Alexander enough with his grin for Violent By Design to return and attack him from behind. The Briscoes jump back in and help him out. After outgunning VBD, Alexander & The Briscoes hold the ring.
