Might have missed it in previous weeks, but Impact are using the old TNA Wrestling theme to open shows. We kick off with Deonna Purrazzo joining Tom at the commentary table.
Impact Wrestling Results (6/2/2022)
#1. Savannah Evans (w/ Tasha Steelz) vs. Mia Yim — Winner: Mia Yim with Eat Defeat
– Shark Boy gets too emotional for Eddie Edwards tastes, so he pins him up against a door. TNA Original Chris Harris pops up out of nowhere and challenges Edwards to a match, which he confidently accepts.
– Madison Rayne & Tenille Dashwood poke the bear that is Rosemary while she’s upset about Havok’s absence. She repays them by saying she’ll bite Madison’s face off if she’s not careful. The rest of Decay show up and scare them away.
#2. Kenny King vs. Blake Christian — Winner: Kenny King
Breaking news. Former AEW wrestler Jack Evans has been added to the Ultimate X match at Slammiversary.
#3. Matthew Rehwoldt vs. Rich Swann — Winner: Rich Swann
The Good Brothers are out to air some frustration with The Briscoes. Karl Anderson says they are getting their title shot at Slammiversary. Gallows say they are 7-time tag team champions and have sold out arenas all over the world, along with winning gold on every continent. It’s not earned, it’s deserved.
They give kudos to The Briscoes, but their accomplishments don’t match up to theirs. Who else has the legacy and saved tag team wrestling in this century like The Good Brothers? Anderson tells his brother that he has a present in the form of a video package. It’s a top 10 countdown of their greatest moments. At least five of these moments are the time they beat The Briscoes. We don’t get to see #1 because the tag team champions interrupt.
Jay Briscoe tells ’em they are some real funny dudes, but they’re also soft. The difference in them and y’all, is they grind every day. They know nothing about what they do. The Briscoes grind every day and that’s what they do. Anderson says they were about to show the #1 moment… Gallows gives a drum roll, and of course it was the time they beat The Briscoes. Jay say that’s their problem, and why they have the titles, and they don’t. They start fighting and The Briscoes stand tall in the ring.
– Backstage, Violent By Design blindside Josh Alexander after an interview and Eric Young calls him a dead man.
#4. Matt Taven & Mike Bennett vs. Heath & Rhino — Winners: Honor No More
Honor No More members wrap a chair around Rhino’s knee and destroys it. They quickly get out of there when Motor City Machine Guns and Frankie Kazarian show up. After the break, Rhino is taken away in an ambulance. Kazarian and MCMG want a piece of Honor No More. Scott D’Amore tells them to find anyone who has believed in this company since day 1 and they will get their match with them.
#5. Moose & Steve Maclin vs. PCO & W. Morrissey — Winners: Moose & Maclin
Maclin pinned W. Morrissey in the latter’s last match with Impact. Moose spears PCO. Sami Callihan appears and drills Moose with the baseball bat.
