Impact Wrestling Results (8/18/2022)
#1. Black Taurus vs. Laredo Kid vs. Rey Horus vs. Trey Miguel —Â Winner: Black Taurus
Tasha Steelz interrupts Zicky Dice and Johnny Swinger admiring Killer Kelly’s debut. Speaking of which, Kelly shows up to listen to what she has to say. Kelly’s here to have fun, and maybe she will have some with Tasha. Savannah gets between them and it looks like we’ll see them in a match later.
Like Eddie Edwards during a previous episode, Vincent tries convincing Josh Alexander that turning against Impact would be for his benefit. Rich Swann says he’s crazy and Josh doesn’t look like he’s buying it.
#2. Kenny King (w/ Vincent) vs. Heath — Winner: Heath
Honor No More surround the ring. They get the better of Heath and do what they want to do. While Edwards tells PCO to hit him, Heath takes advantage of PCO’s slow reaction to the command and escapes. Again, PCO has screwed it up for Honor No More.
Chris Sabin says he, Shelley and Kushida all lost their matches at Emergence. But it’s fine, because as a trio they can get their own back on Violent By Design. Together, they are Time Machine, and it’s time to set the record straight.
Backstage, Honor No More asks Scott D’Amore when they’re getting their tag team title shot. Because Doc Gallows is injured, he needs time to heal up, so it could be a few weeks. In the mean time, they can have a match with Karl Anderson next week. If he wins, Maria will be banned from ringside for their title match.
#3. Killer Kelly vs. Savannah Evans (w/ Tasha Steelz) — Winner: Killer Kelly with the Killer Klutch submission
Rosemary says they need to regroup and challenge for the tag team titles again when the time is right. Jessicka says she’s ready and has already got her debut match next week. This annoys Rosemary a little, but it’s fine, she will get her ready while Taya Valkyrie buys her a new battle coat.
#4. [X Division Championship] Mike Bailey (c) vs. Chris Bey — Winner: Mike Bailey with Ultimo Weapon
#5. [#1 Contender elimination match for the World Heavyweight Championship] Eddie Edwards vs. Sami Callihan vs. Rich Swann vs. Bandido vs. Moose vs. Steve Maclin
- Moose first eliminates Sami Callihan.
- Steve Maclin eliminates Moose immediately after. Moose and Callihan fight to the backstage area.
- Bandido eliminates Steve Maclin.
- Eddie Edwards eliminates Bandido to make this a singles match.
- Eddie Edwards eliminates Rich Swann to become the #1 contender
Winner: Eddie Edwards
