Impact Wrestling Results (9/23/2021)

In the opening segment, Josh Alexander gave up the X-Division title for “Option C”, a shot at the World Heavyweight title at Bound For Glory. He’s encouraged by Christian Cage saying he would regret giving up being the face of the X-Division, as he would not leave BFG as the face of Impact. Ace Austin interrupted and told Alexander he should have stayed as champion. He & Fulton attacked them and hurt Cage’s eye.

#1. Hikuleo (w/ Chris Bey) vs. David Finlay (w/ Juice Robinson) — Winner: David Finlay

The fight continues afterward. Just as FinJuice look like they have the upper hand, El Fantasmo returns to Impact and makes it a 3-on-2 Bullet Club beat down.

– Eric Young says violence is the only thing sickness understands. He knows Rhino can apologize and move forward by being better, stronger, and the War Machine. It’s not a phase or something he can walk away from. Do the right thing, think about his actions. Think about how he made them do that to him. Everything up to this point is his question. Violent By Design need an answer by next week.

– Chelsea Green is back in action and is looking to get her retribution for what Rohit Raju did to her.

#2. Chelsea Green (w/ Matt Cardona) vs. Rohit Raju — Winner: Rohit Raju with an assist from the returning Raj Singh

– Eddie Edwards & Sami Callihan double team Moose backstage and demand they tell ’em where W. Morrissey is. They are on the hunt.

#3. Willie Mack & Rich Swann vs. Brian Myers & VSK (w/ The Learning Tree) — Winner: Willie Mack & Rich Swann

– Johnny Swinger is worried because Impact is going to Vegas, so it will put his palace under threat. They decide to send Scott D’Amore a letter to ask them not to move Impact there, daddy.

– The Good Brothers are on a well earned vacation. Why do they deserve it? Because they have beaten every team that has been put in front of them. If anyone does earn a shot against them, it’s always going to end the same. With the Magic Killer.

Mickie James Calls Out Deonna Purrazzo

Mickie James is here. It was a huge honor to come back at Slammiversary. Her intentions were about highlighting the Knockouts Division and champion Deonna Purrazzo. A lot has changed since then, because her actions at NWA 73 were so disrespectful. Mickie wants to address the elephant in the room, so she asks Purrazzo to come to the ring. Purrazzo is livid that she would mention her name after attacking her last week. Mickie calls her entitled, but sees so far through her. She’s a fighter, and not an executive producer anymore, she’s talking to Hardcore Country.

There’s an event coming up called Bound For Glory, one of the biggest shows of the year. What a better place to become champion again? Deonna says she owes her nothing, and she understands Mickie wanting this dream match to stay relevant. Everyone wants a piece of her right now, but if we’re being honest, this does nothing for her. She never idolized Mickie James. This match she is desperately clinging to, is not going to happen. Respect is earned where she comes from, not given. The answer is hell no! They start fighting and officials come out to separate them.

Scott D’Amore says neither Mickie James or Deonna Purrazzo makes matches. Yet, the company was built on veterans like Mickie. She gets any match she wants, and he would be stupid not to make it official. Purrazzo vs. James at Bound For Glory for the Knockouts title.

– We go backstage. Eddie & Sami are still on the hunt. They find W. Morrissey, but security are on the scene to stop them. How did Scott get back there so quick? He tells them to wait until next week, because they will settle it in a match with street fight stipulations.

– Gail Kim announces a four way match at Knockouts Knockdown to become the #1 contender. There’s also something to be decided over the Knockouts Tag Team titles with Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering, which The Influence want a part of.

#4. Josh Alexander vs. Ace Austin (w/ Madman Fulton) — Winner: Josh Alexander

Madman Fulton attacks Alexander immediately after the bell, and Christian Cage runs to the ring to even up the odds. They push them out of the ring and stare each other down, but they take their eyes off the prize.

Oh My God! It’s Christopher Daniels! The Fallen Angel! He is back in Impact! This was totally unexpected, and he helps out Cage & Alexander. Is he coming back for Bound For Glory?! See you next week to find out why the Fallen Angel is back in Impact for the first time since 2014.
