WWE Monday Night RAW Results – August 26, 2019: Sasha Banks Returns, KOTR Continues


Winner: Baron Corbin

After the match Corbin wears the crown, holds the scepter and says that he was asked about a ridiculous poll that said they wanted anybody but Corbin to win King of the Ring. He says the good thing is that he’s never cared what they think because they don’t matter. He says on their best day they couldn’t accomplish anything he has. After he is coronated, we will hear All Hail King Corbin.

Backstage, The OC says they will win the tag team turmoil match and regain the titles because they are the only team that matters.

Back from commercial, we get a recap of the segment involving Rey Mysterio and his son last week.

Bayley vs. Nikki Cross

Nikki starts with a shove and some shots before Bayley gets a side headlock. Bayley gets a back suplex and kick outside. Nikki plants Bayley on her face and shoves her into the side of the ring. Then, Nikki starts to work over Bayley’s left arm and gets a scissors hold. Nikki gets a cover for 2 before she gets a shot to the waist. She gets another cover for 2.

Nikki gets Bayley in the Tree of oe and gets some shots before getting a running shoulder block for another 2 count. Bayley escapes and gets a cover for 2. Suplex connects and a knee to the face gets 2. Bayley then gets a sidewalk slam and hits a top rope elbow for the victory.

Winner: Bayley

Backstage, we see Braun Strowman and he is asked about his match tonight with AJ Styles and his matches at Clash of Champions. He says that he and Seth will take care of their challengers for the RAW Tag Team Championships, defeat Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship and then will successfully defend his United States Championship. That’s what he calls winner takes all. Nothing will stop AJ from getting these hands.

Tag Team Turmoil Match: The Viking Raiders vs. The B-Team vs. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder vs. Heavy Machinery vs. Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode vs. Lucha House Party vs. The OC vs. The Revival

The Viking Raiders are out first. Their opponents are the B-Team. Erik is being isolated in the corner and Axel and Dallas go to work. However, Ivar gets the shots on Dallas, Axel is sent out of the ring and The Viking Experience eliminates The B-Team. Out next is The OC.

Anderson takes out Erik and Ivar goes to work on Gallows. The OC double teams Ivar and hit a series of clotheslines in the corner. Then, Erik is double teamed on the outside. Ivar then hits a suicide dive on the outside. The two teams brawl with each other in the ring and the referee disqualifies both teams. Both The Viking Experience and The OC have been eliminated.

Next out is Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. They are facing Lucha House Party. Dorado gets a hurricanrana on Roode and he tags in Ziggler. Gran Metalik gets a back elbow and a missile dropkick before Roode saves the cover. Ziggler sends Dorado into the barricade and Metalik gets a sunset flip for 2. Metalik goes for another back elbow but Ziggler catches him with a superkick in mid-air for the victory. Lucha House Party is eliminated. The Revival is up next.

Ziggler gets a cover on Dawson for a 2 count and Dawson regroups. Roode tags himself in and goes to work on Dawson in the corner. Dawson gets chops of his own, but Roode reverses an Irish Whip into a back body drop. Wilder tags himself in as he takes Ziggler out and Dawson shoves Roode. Wilder and Dawson get a top-rope leg drop backbreaker combo for 2. Slingshot into the ropes gets 2. Wilder gets a cheapshot on Ziggler and Dawson gets the slingshot suplex before Roode saves the cover.

Ziggler hits a fameasser on Wilder before Dawson gets a brainbuster. Roode goes for the Glorious DDT but Dawson fights out. However, Roode tries again and this time gets the Glorious DDT for the victory. Next out is Ryder and Hawkins.

Ryder and Hawkins start with a double team and Roode is sent out of the ring. However, from out of nowhere, Ziggler gets a superkick on Ryder and they are done. The last team out is Heavy Machinery.

The bell rings and Tucker takes out Ziggler and Roode on the outside. Tucker gets a crossbody on Ziggler for a 2 count. Otis tags himself in and he gets a suplex on Ziggler for a 2 count. Tucker is tagged and gets a plancha. Roode sends Tucker over the top rope and tags himself in. Tucker is driven into the barricade and into the steel steps. That gets a 2 count. Knee drop gets two.

Ziggler tags in and he gets a neckbreaker on Tucker for a 2 count. Tucker gets a slingshot on Ziggler into the post. Ziggler tags in Roode and Tucker tags in Otis and Otis goes to work on Roode and Ziggler. Otis gets a scoop slam on Roode and a corner clothesline. He plants Ziggler and gets a corner clothesline on both Roode and Ziggler. Otis gets the catepillar and the elbow on Ziggler. Roode goes for a cover from behind but that gets 2. Otis gets a scoop slam on Roode and that gets a close two count.

Otis and Tucker go for their finisher but Ziggler cuts off Tucker with a clothesline and Ziggler gets a Zig Zag on Otis on top of Tucker. Roode gets a Glorious DDT on Tucker and that’s all she wrote. Ziggler and Roode will challenge for the RAW Tag Team Championships at Clash of Champions.

Sasha Banks vs. Natalya is up next. We get a recap of the Roman Reigns saga.

Sasha Banks vs. Natalya

Natalya starts with a takedown, a shoulder block to the barricade and a suplex on the outside. Natalya continues to pummel away before Sasha shoves her. Natalya forces Sasha into the corner before Sasha responds with an elbow and a kick. Natalya gets a release German Suplex which gets a 2 count.

Sasha escapes outside once again before Sasha drives Natalya’s injured arm into the ring post and throws her by the timekeeper. Sasha shoves her back arm-first into the ring post and that gets a 2 count. Sasha continues to go to work. Natalya gets a roll p for 2 before attempting the Sharpshooter. Sasha attacks the arm again and she gets the Bank Statement. Natalya attempts to escape, but Sasha locks both of her arms and Nattie has to tap.
