This morning, NJPW held the first night of Wrestle Kingdom 16 at the Tokyo Dome in front of an attendance of 12,047 spectators. Below the full results of the event:
- NJPW Ranbo – Chase Owens, CIMA, Minoru Suzuki and Toru Yano are the final four and will compete tomorrow in a Fatal 4-Way for the KOPW Championship.

- BULLET CLUB (KENTA, El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori) defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi and The Mega Coaches (Rocky Romero & Ryusuke Taguchi) by disqualification
- United Empire (Will Ospreay, Great-O-Khan, Jeff Cobb) defeated Los Ingobernables de Japon (BUSHI, Tetsuya Naito, SANADA)
- Katsuyori Shibata defeated Ren Narita
- NEVER Openweight Championship – EVIL defeated Tomohiro Ishii (c)
- IWGP Tag Team Championship – CHAOS (YOSHI-HASHI & Hirooki Goto) defeated Dangerous Tekkers (Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr.) (c)
- IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship – El Desperado (c) defeated Hiromu Takahashi
- IWGP World Heavyweight Championship – Kazuchika Okada defeated Shingo Takagi (c)
At the end of the show, Kazuchika Okada bid farewell to the old IWGP Heavyweight Championship that he demanded to carry after winning the G1 Climax. Tomorrow he will face Will Ospreay to decide the “real” champion, since the English man claims to have never lost his title (which was vacated due to injury).
