WWE Recap Report of the Week: Highlights, Major News & Catch-Up Notes

Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE for those who may have missed out.

Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.

Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.

With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.

  • Shelton Benjamin defeated No Way Jose.
  • Riddick Moss defeated Cedric Alexander.

  • Angel Garza beat Humberto Carrillo by pinfall.
  • Ricochet beat Luke Gallows by pinfall.
  • The O.C. attacked Aleister Black backstage, just to prove a point and vent their frustrations about Gallows losing.
  • Paul Heyman cut another promo about how Brock Lesnar would beat Ricochet at Super ShowDown and Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania.
  • Despite being loopy from the attack earlier, Aleister Black still managed to beat Erick Rowan by pinfall. He then told Sarah Schreiber after the match that he only did that because of unbridled rage and AJ Styles would experience that next week as the two of them are going to fight.
  • Charly Caruso interviewed Drew McIntyre about his career struggles and his aspirations to win the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.
  • Bobby Lashley beat R-Truth by pinfall.
  • All the women except Shayna Baszler signed the contracts for the Elimination Chamber match. Then, Baszler showed up and signed last before eyeing up Natalya. Asuka pushed Nattie out of the way, told Baszler “bite me” and then was taken down by Nattie in return. Liv Morgan jumped Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan went outside the ring, too. This opened Baszler up for an attack by Becky Lynch, but the two were quickly separated by officials.
  • Angelo Dawkins beat Murphy by disqualification due to interference by Seth Rollins, who then beat Montez Ford by pinfall.
  • At the beginning of the night, Kevin Owens had interrupted Randy Orton’s promo to ask him why he attacked Edge, which led to a main event match between the two. During that match, Seth Rollins and his disciples came out and a brawl started that also included The Viking Raiders. Eventually, Orton beat Owens by pinfall when the referee did a fast count. Owens ripped open the referee’s shirt to reveal a Seth Rollins t-shirt underneath and that he did that because he’s a follower, too. To get him back, Owens gave the referee a stunner and powerbombed him through a table.

  • Cameron Grimes defeated Dominik Dijakovic by pinfall with some help from Damian Priest, who attacked Dijakovic when the referee wasn’t looking.
  • William Regal announced that there will be a series of matches over the coming weeks to determine two superstars who will compete in an NXT Women’s Championship No. 1 contender’s ladder match at TakeOver: Tampa.
  • Finn Balor cut a promo asking who his next challenger will be. Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel interrupted and said WALTER sends his regards, before attacking Balor.
  • Xia Li defeated Mia Yim by pinfall due to a distraction from Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez. Gonzalez attacked Yim after the match and Li tried to fight her off to help, but Gonzalez took them both out.
  • Velveteen Dream challenged Roderick Strong to a steel cage match next week to coincide with the Dakota Kai vs. Tegan Nox cage match.
  • Tommaso Ciampa defeated Austin Theory by pinfall. After the match, Johnny Gargano attacked Ciampa.
  • Killian Dain defeated Bronson Reed by pinfall
  • Grizzled Young Veterans defeated The Forgotten Sons by pinfall
  • Backstage, Damian Priest told Jon Quasto that he attacked Dijakovic because he’s in the way of the North American Championship.
  • Charlotte Flair defeated Bianca Belair by pinfall. Flair hooked Belair’s leg into a chair and stomped on it. Then, Rhea Ripley ran Flair off.

  • Grizzled Young Veterans defeated The Hunt by pinfall.
  • Kassius Ohno defeated Jack Starz by submission.
  • A-Kid defeated The Brian Kendrick
  • Kay Lee Ray retained the NXT UK Women’s Championship over Toni Storm in an I Quit Match.

  • Goldberg asked who is next. Roman Reigns answered. Later, they confirmed this match will happen at WrestleMania. No Elimination Chamber match that Sheamus was talking about. #PlansChange
  • Naomi beat Bayley by disqualification due to interference from Sasha Banks. Lacey Evans came out to help and that set up a tag team match. Evans and Naomi then beat Banks and Bayley when Naomi pinned Bayley.
  • Robert Roode beat Kofi Kongstin by pinfall.
  • Otis still doesn’t think the whole Mandy Rose and Dolph Ziggler situation is right. Tucker is going to try to help him find love in the WWE Universe next week.
  • Renee Young mediated an Intercontinental Championship contract signing. Braun Strowman said he knew he’d have to fight all three of Cesaro, Sami Zayn and Shinsuke Nakamura no matter what and signed the contract. Zayn took advantage of that and amended the contract to make it an official 3-on-1 handicap match. Then, the trio teamed up on Strowman and put him through a table.
  • Drew Gulak was on commentary trying to help give pointers to Curtis Axel, but Daniel Bryan beat Axel by submission.
  • The Miz and John Morrison were celebrating their tag team title win when it was announced they will have to defend those titles in an Elimination Chamber match against The New Day, Heavy Machinery, Lucha House Party, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode and The Usos. Then, The Usos beat Miz and Morrison by pinfall.
  • John Cena said he believes a spot at WrestleMania should be earned and not demanded, so he wants this year to go on without him. Bray Wyatt then appeared. When The Fiend pointed at the WrestleMania sign, Cena tipped his cap and agreed to a match.

  • Joaquin Wilde beat Raul Mendoza by pinfall.
  • Lio Rush beat Tony Nese by disqualification due to Mike Kanellis interfering. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch (who are on Lio Rush’s team in 2 weeks) came out to help. Then, Gentleman Jack Gallagher (who will be on Team Tony Nese) laid out Rush.

  • Samoa Joe was suspended for 30 days for his first Wellness Policy violation.
