WWE RAW (12/9/2024)

Gunther opens the show. He says Finn Balor has made a great mistake and no has his undivided attention. Saturday Night Main Event will not end like Survivor Series. He is interrupted by Judgment Day. Balor tells him he is the only reason he is World Champion right now. Damian Priest launches an attack, but this backfires against him and Gunther, as the numbers game gets the better of them.

Backstage, Adam Pearce tells Finn Balor know he will be facing Gunther and Damian Priest at Saturday Night Main Event for the title. Also, next week, he and JD McDonagh will defend their titles against the War Raiders, and the Judgment Day are banned from ringside.

#1. The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis & Joe Gacy) vs. The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, The Miz & AOP) Winners: Final Testament

CM Punk has a sitdown interview with Jackie Redmond. He is confused at how much Seth Rollins hates him, because he doesn’t hate Rollins. If anything he feels that Seth believes he is entitled to something. While Punk was away, Rollins did a good job of carrying things, but he is back to take over.

#2. Dakota Kai vs. Liv Morgan Winner: Liv Morgan

Pure Fusion Collective attacks Dakota Kai after the match. Damage CTRL appears to save her, but then Liv Morgan blindsides Iyo ahead of their title match at SNME.

Drew McIntyre tells us he took out Jey Uso and Sami Zayn because they helped Roman Reigns. At least CM Punk took a bribe to get involved. He can’t change the past as much as he wants, but he can change the present.

Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring. He comments on CM Punk’s words. He could be a politician. You take a little bit of truth and spin it to seem like the victim, and he has been doing it his entire life. Punk is a con man. He did go to Punk to ask if he would train him. He idolized CM Punk. But he left out part of the story. When he left the company before, Rollins rang him because he was a friend. But what did he get? He got ghosted, and that goes for everyone who was friends with Punk in this company.

For the next 10 years, all CM Punk did was try to tear this company down. When he finally walked back, it was because he failed at everything else, and burned every bridge that would lead him to water, and the money was right. Once upon a time, he used to chant his name, too. But somewhere along the way, he realized he was a fraud, and he wanted to be better than CM Punk. And he did something he can never do, and that is main event WrestleMania. Sami Zayn’s music interrupts him.

Rollins tells him if he is here to defend Punk again, they will be fighting again. Sami Zayn understands, and he admits he was wrong to assume it was Rollins who attacked Jey Uso. He is sorry for the accusation. Rollins is happy he brought that up, because the thing that is eating him up, is that Zayn would even think that. Sami tries to make him understand that Rollins was talking like someone else last week, and it reminded him of Drew McIntyre, but Rollins is better than that. Seth appreciates him for explaining things, and the respect remains between them.

After Rollins walks away, Sami Zayn announces he has talked to Adam Pearce and got a match with Drew McIntyre on Saturday Night Main Event. He wants this to be over as quickly as possible. As Sami heads on out, he is blindsided by McIntyre again! Officials rush out to keep him away.

#3. [Women’s IC Title Tournanent First Round] Zelina Vega vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Ivy Nile Winner: Lyra Valkyria

The New Day don’t want a biased interview with Cathy Kelley, so they take the camera and make their way to the ring. The crowd isn’t happy with them. Kingston says that after the 10 years of positivity, they are going to turn after one day? Woods tries to talk, but is drowned out by boos and “We Want Big E” chants. After trying for a while, Xavier Woods throws the microphone on the ground and the New Day walks out.

#4. [Anything Goes] Rhea Ripley vs. Raquel Rodriguez Winner: Rhea Ripley
