WWE RAW (4/28/2025)
The show opens with Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman. Rollins says they are looking at the future of this industry, and the future runs through Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins! Sami Zayn enters. After some polite words, Sami Zayn tells him as a friend that this thing he has right here is a loud of crap. How is he any different to CM Punk and Roman Reigns now he has backup like they did?
Sami thinks maybe he didn’t really hate them, he was just jealous of their success and wanted to be in their position. How convenient is it that the future revolves around Seth Rollins? Zayn calls his vision hypocritical. Rollins tells him that this thing he has here is the vision for the future, and he either stands with them, or he becomes a target.
This isn’t a threat, but he clearly isn’t going to buy in, so they can cash him out and negotiate him a deal to go to SmackDown. Think about it before he does anything, but they will need an answer before the end of the night.
#1. Rhea RIpley vs. Roxanne Perez – Winner: No Contest after Giulia’s interference
IYO Sky rushes to the ring to make the save. After doing well for a while, she eventually struggles with the numbers game, but then Rhea Ripley emerges to scare Perez and Giulia away.
The Judgment Day are happy to be altogether again. JD McDonagh thought Liv Morgan would let Finn Balor know they have a tag match tonight against the War Raiders. Balor appreciates the thought, but he nicely reminds them to keep him in the loop.
During the break, Grayson Waller lets us know he asked Nick Aldis for an opportunity, but it is only for a singles match for himself. Austin Theory is clearly unhappy to hear that.
Logan Paul talks in the ring. He calls the people stupid for not knowing what a true legend looks like. A true legend doesn’t look like Jey Uso, either. After 7 days of thinking, he has done everything in this industry except for winning a world title. He sends a warning to Jey Uso… who quickly answers the call.
Jey Uso tells Logan Paul he didn’t work hard for over fifteen years to hand this title over to some YouTuber. If he wants this, he has to come and get it. Logan tells him he will take it, and Jey will do what he always does. Crash out, screw up, and lose the title quicker than he lost the IC title. Enjoy it while you still… and Jey super kicks Logan in the face. Yeet!
The New Day joins the commentary table for the next match.
#2. War Raiders vs. Judgment Day’s JD McDonagh & Finn Balor – Winners: War Raiders with an assist from Penta
Backstage, Paul Heyman continues to persuade Sami Zayn to jump to SmackDown, or at least consider joining them. He has a decision to make.
Becky Lynch is here to explain why she attacked Lyra Valkyria. But before that, she admits to being the one who attacked Bayley before WrestleMania. She gets angry with the fans for not liking that after everything Bayley has done to her since 2019. She is always crying about wanting to be a bigger star, but she got to see what a bigger star looks like when Becky Lynch walked down the ramp at WrestleMania.
As for Lyra Valkyria, she had high hopes. Becky mentored and tried to save her from that bitch. She would have never won those titles with Bayley, but luckily Becky got there before… Lyra Valkyria enters. She lets her know that many of the women backstage warned her about Becky Lynch’s merciless nature. Lyra knows exactly what she is… the illusion of Becky Lynch, and she will make her pay for what she did.
Is she thinking about when she lost the NXT title to her in their last match? Becky Lynch isn’t interested in wrestling here in Kansas. Valkyria challenges her to an IC title match at Backlash. Becky will make that better and her matter… Lyra cuts her off by saying no, only she made herself matter. She is a better wrestler and will make her pay. They fight, but Becky can’t handle it and retreats. As Lyra walks to the back, Lynch returns to get in a cheap shot.
In a vignette, Rusev tells us he went back to Bulgaria to fix himself. And now he is back, he will put his abilities to good use. He will fix everyone who wastes their talent like he did. They are all on notice. They will be redeemed.
#3. Ivy Nile (w/ Chad Gable) vs. Stephanie Vaquer – Winner: Stephanie Vaquer
There’s an interaction between Nick Aldis, AJ Styles, and the Judgment Day. Liv Morgan is granted time off to film a movie in Hollywood. Dominik Mysterio asks for time off because he is the champion and can do what he wants. Aldis tells him he should expect to double his workload now.
Dominik questions whether AJ Styles is looking for a retirement home, so AJ suggests he could be looking to smack him in the face. Liv Morgan quickly gets Dominik out of there. AJ would love an opportunity, and Aldis is already thinking the same.
Pat McAfee cuts a motivational speech about his life and how he wants to be remembered. He also puts over Michael Cole and vows to protect his boy from idiots like Gunther. If he has a problem with Cole, then Pat has a problem with him. He calls out Adam Pearce despite him not being here, so Nick Aldis walks out. Pat wants him to lift Gunther’s suspension and book a match ASAP. Aldis has already talked to Pearce about this, and they cannot lift his suspension right now. However, what they can do, is schedule a match between Pat McAfee and Gunther for Backlash. Pat is quick to accept.
Backstage, Jey Uso talks to Sami Zayn about what is going down tonight. After Zayn leaves, Logan Paul blindsides Jey and leaves him laying.
They get a brief word with IYO Sky, and she is asked why she helped Rhea Ripley earlier. The champion says it is because she helped her last week, so it was the right thing to do. Ripley shows up to tell her she didn’t need her help… but IYO really thinks she did. Rhea thanks her for the assist.
