WWE RAW (9/30/2024)
The show begins with Jey Uso, the new Intercontinental Champion, and he has a blue tinted title belt. Jey Uso says he is now in your city, and he is going to fight anyone who wants to have a go. He is pretty emotional about this special moment. It was a long, hard road to get here. The family made it hard for him. Roman made it hard for him. His whole life he has been just a twin, and nobody knew him, but they know him now, though.
His biggest fan is his Mother. He spoke to his mom, and she said to go out there and show ‘em who you are. Go out there and get it. He got it and Momma, we did it. Bron Breakker interrupts him. He’s not here to crash the party. He is out here out of respect for that championship. The lineage of the IC title goes back a long way. Breakker told the world how much it meant to him. On that night, Jey Uso was the better man. He felt like he should be the first one to come out here to tell him congratulations. They share a handshake. Jey Uso says there are some dogs in Indiana, before Breakker leaves him with the spotlight.
#1. Rey Mysterio vs. Xavier Woods – Winner: Xavier Woods after accidentally unmasking Mysterio
Kofi Kingston wonders if Xavier Woods unmasked Rey Mysterio on purpose, but he is adamant that he didn’t. Kingston tells him he got a match with Jey Uso for the IC title, but that it should be Woods challenging him instead, and he agreed. This makes Xavier Woods really happy.
#2. Zoey Stark (w/ PFC) vs. Lyra Valkyria – Winner: Zoey Stark
Kayden Carter & Katana Chance return to RAW to save Lyra Valkyria from Pure Fusion Collective and they do the job!
They lower the Hell In A Cell structure. Adam Pearce asks the competitors to join him and his security team in the ring. CM Punk is out first. Drew McIntyre joins them shortly after, and gets a microphone. He tells Punk he is wearing black out of respect for his wife, as she will have to take care of him after Bad Blood. He still can’t believe these idiot fans are still chanting for him after 10 months of telling them who CM Punk really is. Before he came back to WWE, he didn’t have the time for hate. He has learned to hate and use it as a weapon that will die with him.
CM Punk says people have called him many things over the years, but now he is voiceless because he has nothing to say to him. He has been in a hotel for four weeks because he will not subject his wife to the hate he has within him right now. Punk says he needs to send McIntyre home to Scotland in a box. He wants him to remember and never forget that he prayed for all of this. On Saturday, when he is locked inside the cell with him and he has taken everything from him, and he is gripped with nothing but panic, he will beg and look up through the blood in his eyes, and it won’t be a God or a Devil he will be praying to, he will be praying to CM Punk. He will see McIntyre in hell.
During a segment with Braun Strowman, The Miz interrupts him, and then a returning R-Truth, who cannot remember the 5 Tsunami. Truth tells Miz he hasn’t enjoyed how Karrion Kross has been bullying him. The Miz tells him they need to handle AOP, and Truth confirms that The Awesome Truth is back! And that’s awesome.
Before the next match, Sami Zayn tells Cathy Kelly that it hasn’t been the rejection that has been bothering him, it is the disrespect. There have been doubters along the way, and you’d think he would be used to it, but it does hurt and anyone who says it doesn’t is lying. He doesn’t want to lose any sleep over it because he knows he is good enough to be the World Champion. Gunther can keep running his mouth and dodging him, but he doesn’t go away easily, and he will not stop until he gets his chance.
#3. Latino World Order’s Dragon Lee, Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro vs. Judgment Day’s Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh & Carlito (w/ Liv Morgan) – Winners: Judgment Day with an assist from Balor & Morgan
Finn Balor and Liv Morgan direct some insults toward Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley ahead of Bad Blood. Ripley interrupts Morgan’s promo to let her know she is aware of all of Dom’s dirty little secrets. He is extremely claustrophobic. So, when he is locked in the shark cage, crying, soiling himself, and cleaning himself up with his brand new merch, he will realize that his new girlfriend is not as good as her. Dominik will watch when she wins back the title she never lost. Damian Priest appears behind the Judgment Day and takes it to all of them.
During the fight, Rhea Ripley deals with Liv Morgan and almost locks Dominik Mysterio in the shark cage. Morgan returns just in time to save him. Meanwhile, Priest is fighting three members of the Judgment Day by himself. Dominik returns and the numbers game gets the better of Priest. Balor hits several finishers on his Bad Blood opponent.
#4. Kofi Kingston (w/ Xavier Woods) vs. Chad Gable (w/ American Made) – Winner: Chad Gable after a failed assist from Xavier Woods
The Wyatt Six sends a warning to someone to stop their anger and rage, or they will be given no choice.
Gunther makes his way to the ring. He is tired of the insults from Sami Zayn each week. And talk of the devil, Sami Zayn is quick to enter. He says if he finds it so annoying, there is an easy way to end this once and for all. Give him what he keeps asking for. He won’t do it, and he knows why. Tell him in front of everyone why he won’t do it. Gunther tried to beat it in to him that he is not on his level.
Zayn reminds him he beat him at WrestleMania. It drives him crazy that he knows if they fought; he is scared it will happen again. The crowd chants, “You’re A Coward”. Gunther admits to Sami that he is afraid. But he isn’t afraid of him. No, he is afraid of hurting his reputation. Losing to him was the biggest embarrassment of his career. He was so busy embarrassing him in front of his family, and that cost him. Gunther’s father expressed his disappointment after he lost to Sami Zayn. His family is used to seeing him fail, while his family expects him to win. He is the golden goose. He is special. And he is something he will never be. The World Heavyweight Champion.
Sami Zayn tells him that when he loses, he picks himself up and keeps going. When Gunther lost, he crumbled. He didn’t ask for a rematch. He hid away from television because he couldn’t do it. Now, he is doing nothing but showing his dad that he’s also a coward. Gunther nails Zayn with a surprise clothesline. Sami fights back, but is then put in a sleeper hold and slammed in to the mat. Gunther finally accepts a match with Zayn.
#5. The Awesome Truth vs. Authors Of Pain (w/ Final Testament) – Winners: AOP after The Miz betrays R-Truth and walks out
Bron Breakker gets a good look at the World Heavyweight Championship. Gunther calls him a badass. Breakker agrees, and he will find out how much so soon enough.
#6. [Last Monster Standing] Braun Strowman vs. Bronson Reed – Winner: Braun Strowman with an assist from Seth Rollins
After destroying the ring with a Superplex, Seth Rollins returned to get his revenge on Bronson Reed by taking him out with a Curb Stomp on to the steel steps. Strowman got to his feet by the count of ten to be the “Last Monster Standing”.
