We bring you coverage for the episode of WWE SmackDown airing on January 31, 2025. Missed RAW? You can find the results here.

The show begins with Michael Cole introducing Pat McAfee, who makes a full entrance in front of the state he previously played in the NFL for. Pat appreciates everyone. Since he started working with WWE, he has been pleading with the powers that be to bring a major PLE to Indiana. The state is ready to host the biggest Royal Rumble of all time. He loves this place, this company, and is so thankful to be here. Let’s have a Royal Rumble weekend.

Next up, to ensure fairness after he invited Cody Rhodes last week, Joe Tessitore invites Kevin Owens to the ring for an interview. Kevin Owens makes his way to the ring. Tessitore assures Owens he wants him to be heard. What is being misrepresented here with him and Cody? Owens understands why he was being a little fanboy. He had to watch as others like Seth Rollins and CM Punk overlooked him by assuming they will challenge him at WrestleMania.

Kevin Owens asks Joe Tessitore if he is a tough guy. He doesn’t want his apology. He can stick it up his ass. As Owens is about to leave, CM Punk’s music plays! There’s a stare down between them, before Owens asks Punk if he can help him. Punk isn’t here to help him. He wants to offer an apology. He shouldn’t have interrupted him, and he shouldn’t have overlooked him. But he should know that tomorrow, when he wins the Royal Rumble, and if Owens makes it past an angry Cody Rhodes, the main event could be Kevin Owens vs. CM Punk. He is letting KO know that if that happens, he is coming for him.

In response, Owens says there are 29 other guys in the Rumble he likes in the Rumble more than him. But the thought of him beating CM Punk’s ass in the main event of WrestleMania is pretty good. He knows what main eventing WrestleMania means to him. It’s a dream he has had since being a kid, and why it was so heartbreaking last year when he was hurt. And now he is back after his long hiatus, the idea of him never being able to invite WrestleMania is so good to him. Never getting to realize that dream would give him a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, when an old, broken CM Punk obsesses over him being a multi-time WrestleMania main eventer. With that said, Owens hopes he does not win the Rumble.

CM Punk replies by saying he has never lost 5 title matches at the Royal Rumble. Nor has he ever lost to Logan Paul. He has never tried to manipulate his best friend to help him win a title, because he wasn’t confident enough in his own ability. Kevin Owens takes shortcuts. There are two things that have to happen tomorrow night to make KO vs. Punk happen. He has to survive the Rumble, and Kevin has to beat Cody. And tonight, if he wants his ass kicked, all he has to do is step back in the ring. Don’t be afraid. Kevin Owens teases getting back in the ring, but falls off the apron and walks away with his Winged Eagle title.

#1. Jimmy Uso vs. Carmelo Hayes – Winner: JImmy Uso

#2. [Women’s United States Championship] Chelsea Green (c) (w/ Piper Niven) vs. Michin – Winner: Michin via DQ*

*Chelsea Green became frustrated and hit Michin with a kendo stick.

Damian Priest makes his way to the ring and grabs a microphone. He has only ever known Monday Night RAW. He takes us through his journey from being a nobody to a World Heavyweight Champion. Priest isn’t trying to make a name for himself or make an impact. The aim is winning championships, and he starts by winning the Royal Rumble. Jacob Fatu and Tama Tonga interrupt him.

Fatu tells Priest he sees him. He knows what he’s done. Priest has accomplished a hell of a lot more than these suckers in the back. They are alike. They both came out of the gutter and the streets. The difference is Fatu was locked down in that box. Don’t ever get it twisted, you see, he is off the leash now. He is all dance, no brakes now. If he thought he was making a name for himself on the blue brand, he will let him know exactly how it’s going down. You either lay down, or they will put his ass down. He and Tama Tonga are running SmackDown right now.

Priest isn’t intimidated. Why are they even talking? Priest takes out Tama and Fatu grins. After a brief stare down, they fight! Tonga recovers and the numbers game works in their favor until LA Knight shows up to even the odds. With a steel chair, Knight ensures they aren’t taking anyone out. He grabs a microphone and lays down a challenge for a tag team match. Yeah!

#3. Los Garza & Motor City Machine Guns vs. DIY & Pretty Deadly – Winners: Los Garza & MCMG

#4. Naomi (w/ Bianca Belair) vs. Liv Morgan (w/ Raquel Rodriguez) – Winner: Naomi

#5. Andrade vs. The Miz – Winner: Andrade

Damian Priest has a few words with Santos Escobar, before reuniting with R-Truth, who thinks this is Monday Night RAW. LA Knight shows up to ask if he’s good for the tag match tonight, and Priest confirms he is. R-Truth huddles with both of them and suggest they form a team.

Tiffany Stratton has an interview in the ring with Michael Cole and Pat McAfee. She feels like Nia Jax underestimated her. It isn’t long before Candice LeRae enters. Tiffany betrayed Nia and herself, and it is all because she is jealous of their partnership. Enjoy whatever Tiffy Time she has left, because she will regret stabbing them in the back. Stratton doesn’t care. She is the champion, while Candice will only ever be Nia’s sidekick. Jax attempts to blindside Tiffany, but accidentally crushes Le Rae. Despite this, she gets the upper hand on Tiffany and hits her finisher on the champion.

#6. Jacob Fatu & Tama Tonga vs. LA Knight & Damian Priest – Winner: Knight & Priest

Jacob Fatu ends the show by hitting Damian Priest with the Samoan Drop and a Moonsault.
