We bring you coverage for the episode of WWE SmackDown airing on May 2, 2025. Missed RAW? You can find the results here.
LA Knight opens the show talking about Jacob Fatu. He was allowed to fly around hitting moonsaults because of Damian Priest, who he will be facing later tonight. Priest enters and quickly makes his way to the ring.
They are both frustrated at recent losses, so they take some of that out on one another. Priest tells Knight if his ass wasn’t up his head at ‘Mania, he would still be champion. LA tells him they haven’t got a problem, but if he keeps talking like that, they quickly will. Priest doesn’t see why we should wait for their match… why don’t we do this right now?
#1. Damian Priest vs. LA Knight – Winner: No Contest after Solo Sikoa’s interference
LA Knight and Damian Priest team up to stop Solo Sikoa’s attack. Priest preps the announce table to chokeslam Sikoa through it, but Jacob Fatu arrives just in time to take out Knight and Priest by himself.
Fraxiom are here to be the best on SmackDown, but Pretty Deadly interrupts them to remind them that opportunities are earned, not given. Frazer tells them to be careful of what they wish for, but Pretty Deadly laugh this off.
#2. Fraxiom vs. Pretty Deadly – Winners: Fraxiom
Nia Jax makes her way to the ring to talk, and it is clear everyone missed her. She’s happy to be back, but while Tiffany Stratton was running around like a Barbie with her head cut off, she was preparing to return to take her title back. Luckily, the champion is here to interrupt. Tiffany Stratton tells her she isn’t the same woman she bullied months ago. If they ever lock up again, she’d beat her, too. Nia wonders if that means she is offering a title match. Tiffany declines, although she will offer her a match anytime, anywhere.
Naomi is out next to remind us how they made her life hell. She’s a new Naomi now, and took matters into her own hands. Jade Cargill may have ruined everything she worked for, but she is not done going after gold. Not only will she push them on to a car, she will push them under one. Jade Cargill doesn’t like the sound of that, so she appears to have another fight with Naomi. This ends with Cargill and Stratton taking out Jax and Naomi. They have a brief stare down before Nick Aldis pops in to give us a tag team match, playa!
#3. The Miz vs. Aleister Black – Winner: Aleister Black
Santos Escobar tells Rey Fenix he should be embarrassed for losing the biggest match of his career to El Grande Americano at WrestleMania. Now Rey Mysterio is out, someone needs to step up to take his place, and Santos Escobar believes it is him. Fenix tells him to stay out of his business. He only trusts one luchador and it is certainly not him. If he has a problem, Fenix will see Escobar in the ring tonight.
#4. Zelina Vega vs. Piper Niven (w/ Chelsea Green & Alba Fyre) – Winner: Zelina Vega
Nick Aldis tells Jacob Fatu he will defend the US title against Damian Priest and LA Knight at Backlash. Solo Sikoa doesn’t think that’s fair, because Drew McIntyre won lately, so he should get the title shot. Aldis backtracks, and instead makes this a fatal four way with McIntyre included. Jacob Fatu is happy with that, because whoever he lines up, he will beat them all. Solo says Aldis is trying to screw Fatu, but Fatu says the only one doing that is him.
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. His first words are John Cena. When the world couldn’t see him, he could. It took about twenty years for the world to realize the kinda man he is, but Randy knew from day one. He is arrogant, selfish, and an entitled brat who gets whatever he wants.
While he was the latest toy being played with by the ultimate puppetmaster, Orton was trying to succeed by putting in the work. The machine has always been behind Cena. There’s always a new line of merchandise to make sure fans love him even more than they already do. As for the kids, the reason Cena never had kids was because he was too busy raising all the fans’ kids. The only thing he has ever raised is the price of his merchandise, which many parents struggled to afford.
Selling his soul is not exactly a new concept… Cena has been doing that for twenty years. Randy will give him the hustle all day, but the loyalty and the respect? What happened to them? Last week, he said he would erase the Orton name from the history books. He said he was the last real champion… but he’s just the latest legend he needs to put down. He will punt him so hard in that lego shaped head and then drop his ass with the three most dangerous letters in sports entertainment. RKO!
#5. Rey Fenix vs. Santos Escobar – Winner: Rey Fenix
Andrade keeps on trying to convince La Garza to join his side, but Santos Escobar commands them to walk away.
#6. Jade Cargill & Tiffany Stratton vs. Nia Jax & Naomi – Winners: Cargill & Stratton
Cargill spends a good minute or so holding the WWE Women’s Championship. She eventually hands it to Stratton, but doesn’t let go. Naomi blindsides Jade while this is happening and pushes her in to Tiffany. Naomi grabs the title and holds it high above her rival to end the show.
