The August 22, 2017 episode of WWE 205 Live is coming from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Akira Tozawa will be invoking his rematch clause in an attempt to regain the Cruiserweight Championship from Neville.
Here are the ongoing results of what transpired during the show:
MATCH: Cedric Alexander and Gran Metalik defeat Drew Gulak and Tony Nese (Alexander pins Gulak)
BACKSTAGE: Titus O’Neil is talking to Akira Tozawa in the locker room about how he wishes he would have waited for his rematch, but Tozawa says he’s ready to take the title back. O’Neil calls himself Luke Cage and Tozawa Iron Fist.
DUEL: Gentleman Jack Gallagher is in the ring next to a table filled with weapons including an umbrella, a candlestick, a rope, and other things you’d see in the board game Clue…minus a revolver. The Brian Kendrick comes on the video screen to say Gallagher is a clown and he won’t be dueling with him. Instead, he’s found a suitable opponent for him. Out comes Sprinkles the Clown, who gets beaten down by Gallagher. Kendrick then appears and attacks Gallagher with an umbrella before power bombing him through the table. Kendrick then challenges Gallagher to a No Disqualification match for next week.
BACKSTAGE: TJP is playing WWE 2K18 when Rich Swann approaches him to talk about what happened last week. TJP claims that he went out to show his support and to watch Swann beat Ariya Daivari, but he didn’t know that they’d play his music and it would cause a distraction. He understands that Swann is salty about losing, but he should focus his efforts on Daivari. Swann says he’ll beat Daivari and then he and TJP can settle their rubber match.
CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH: Neville (c) defeats Akira Tozawa by submission.
After the match, he cuts a promo about how he is still the King of the Cruiserweights. Out comes Enzo Amore to say “205 Live just became the realest show in the room.” He calls Neville S-A-W-F-T to end the show.
