Here are the results for tonight’s SmackDown.
We begin with a recap of Money In The Bank.
We open with Miz TV, but before The Miz can kick us off, Otis comes out with the briefcase.
Otis refuses to sit and says he’ll stand. Miz congratulates Otis on his victory. Otis says that MITB was a big win for him, but the biggest win of his life was hooking up with Mandy Rose. The Miz can’t wrap around the fact that he won even though he couldn’t climb a ladder and Otis says some things in life are just meant to happen.
Miz then talks about how Otis got so fat and Miz shows pictures of Otis as a baby. Otis reveals he was 12 pounds and 4 ounces when he was born. Miz then wonders what a baby between Mandy and Otis would look like. Morrison says he’s about to give burth to a turkey and Miz doubts it. Morrison says it’s 2020 and anything could happen. Miz says since Becky was pregnant and relinquished the title, maybe Otis should as well.
Another picture of Otis is showed in early childhood, and Otis says he grew up with a learning disability. Morrison and Miz mock him over with. Miz is upset at how Otis is using the MITB briefcase. Miz used it as a launchpad, and Otis is using it as a lunchbox. Miz says that someone as sweaty and fat as him should not be Mr. MITB and Otis senses there is a problem.
Miz is so mad that he challenges Otis to a tag team match and asks Otis to bring Tucker out right now. Otis says Tucker can’t make it. Miz then says to find anyone to tag with by the end of the night, and they’ll show Otis what it’s like to be a champion.
Michael Cole announces that a tournament will take place to crown a new Intercontinental Champion as the title is held in ambeyance with Sami unable to compete. The matches in the tournament are Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus, Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak, AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Elias vs. King Corbin. The latter match is next.
Elias vs. King Corbin
Corbin breaks Corbin’s guitar, and as soon as he does, Elias hits Corbin with a high knee and cradles him for the victory.
Otis is backstage and he comes across Sheamus. He asks him if he’ll be his partner, and Sheamus tells him not a chance.
Otis is backstage and Mandy Rose checks up on him. Otis says things aren’t looking good since he can’t find a partner. Mandy asks Otis why he doesn’t ask Braun Strowman. Otis calls her brilliant and kisses her before walking off.
The SmackDown hacker is back and they say it sees everyone, hears everything and no one is safe. Video clips of various SmackDown stars plays on different monitors. The truth will be heard.
Otis approaches Braun Strowman and each congratulate each other on their wins at Money In The Bank. Otis asks Braun to be his partner, and Braun suspects that Otis only wants him to be his tag partner so he can get him in a position to cash it in. Braun reminds Otis that he won the briefcase before, so he knows how the game is played. However, since he has respect for Otis, he’ll take it under consideration.
Naomi vs. Dana Brooke
Dana Brooke is able to roll up Naomi for the win.
Winner: Dana Brooke
We get a recap of Becky’s announcement.
Charlotte Flair comes out and she calls herself the hardest working woman in the industry. She says she works all three brands because the numbers say people want to see more Charlotte. She’s 5’10, she’s blonde and her last name is Flair. She also won 5 of her 12 titles on SmackDown, so it’s no surprise why FOX wanted her on. She says a statue of her should be on SmackDown. This brings out Bayley and Sasha Banks.
Bayley says it’s good to see Charlotte and that FOX executives have a thing for blondes. She was listening to Charlotte in the back and she was asking herself when the last time she saw Charlotte was. Sasha reminds Charlotte the last time Bayley and Charlotte were in the ring, Bayley became a 2 time women’s champion.
Charlotte reminds Bayley that the two times Bayley beat Charlotte to become SmackDown Women’s champion, the first time she was unconscious, and the 2nd time, she needed a bad makeover to get the job done.
Bayley says SmackDown is their show, and Charlotte can go back to NXT or RAW where she can beat Liv Morgan over and over. Bayley also reminds Charlotte that she became the first Grand Slam women’s champion ever and she’s beaten everyone. Bayley then orders Charlotte to get out of her ring.
Flair says some things never change. She says Sasha made Bayley relevant when she became NXT Women’s Champon, and says Sasha is the only reason why Bayley is SmackDown women’s champion right now. Flair then reminds Sasha that those two were the first women to main event a PPV inside Hell In a Cell and that she’s a future Hall of Famer. However, Charlotte is sad Sasha is content being an afterthought. Bayley starts to speak, but Charlotte tells someone in the back to cut her mic because she wants to hear Sasha speak.
Bayley gets frustrated and challenges Charlotte to a match, and Charlotte accepts. However, Flair has a question, but not for Bayley. She asks Sasha to think long and hard about whether or not she is her own woman, or if she’s just Bayley’s lackey.
Braun is lifting backstage, and he is asked if him warming up is a sign that he’ll be Otis’ partner. Braun says he’s still chewing on it.
The Forgotten Sons are backstage and they say they chose to serve their country because they wanted to serve their country but they weren’t welcomed as heroes. They weren’t welcomed home with open arms, so they will welcome everyone else with closed fists.
Renee Young interviews The Miz and John Morrison backstage. They react to Otis attempting to recruit Braun Strowman. Morrison said he’s named Braun and not Brain for a reason, but not even Braun would be stupid enough for Otis’ ploy to get an opportunity to cash in. Miz says even if Braun accepts, they’re not match for Miz and Morrison.
Daniel Bryan vs. Drew Gulak
Bryan makes Gulak tap with a leg lock.
Winner: Daniel Bryan
After the match, Daniel Bryan reminds us that it’s been nearly 5 years since he had to relinquish the Intercontinental Championship, and he hasn’t had a shot at it ever since. He wants to make the title the official title of SmackDown and the title representing the best wrestler in WWE, which he believes is him. Gulak and Bryan show each other respect after.
Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley, Jeff Hardy vs. Sheamus, AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura and Otis and Mandy Rose vs. Sonya Deville and Dolph Ziggler are all announced for nerxt week.
Sonya Deville says everything she said has become reality, and that she and Dolph will humiliate Otis and Mandy next week. It got her thinking what Mandy Rose is good at. It’s not winning, fighting or being a good tag team partner or best friend. It’s being blonde and pretty. When it’s all over, where does it leave her? Nowhere except in a double wide trailer with kids running around cooking high cholesterol foods with kids running around. She’s not going to be a winner like Sonya. Sonya says she’s just getting started and she dares Mandy to show why she even deserves to share the same ring with her.
Otis and Braun Strowman vs. The Miz and John Morrison
Strowman hits the running powerslam on Morrison for the win.
Winners: Otis and Braun Strowman
After the match, Mandy Rose comes out. She distracts Braun and Otis pretends to attack him from behind. Then he says he was just kidding. The three stand tall as SmackDown goes off the air.
