Monday Night RAW 5/11/2020 Results

We begin with a recap of last night’s MITB ladder matches.

Becky Lynch comes out, and instead of holding the RAW Women’s Championship, she is holding the Money In The Bank briefcase. Becky is choked up, and she says that she’s torn between joy and sadness. She says things are about to change and she has to do something about it. Becky asked the decision makers to raise the stakes for the MITB Ladder match last night.

Lynch didn’t know anyone in the country and didn’t know if she was good enough to be in the United States and didn’t know if anyone would love an Irish loud mouth. Through injury and triumph, the fans had her back and it was the fans who she latched onto when there was no one else. That’s why it is the fans that deserve to hear it from her. Becky says she has to go away for a while. Out comes Asuka. Asuka tells Becky that the briefcase is hers. Becky says that she’s right, and that she was one of the best opponents she faced, and she’s happy that this is happening.

Becky says that unbeknownst to Asuka, the ladder match was for much more. Becky reveals that the ladder match last night was actually for the RAW Women’s Championship. She opens up the briefcase, and the RAW Women’s Championship is inside the briefcase. Asuka celebrates profusely all across the arena before heading back into the ring. Becky tells Asuka to go be a warrior, because she has to be a mother.

Asuka remains in the ring and continues dancing, celebrating and chanting “Becky” as she expresses happiness over Becky’s news. Becky walks to the back. It is official. Asuka is your new RAW Women’s Champion.

Becky is backstage and is congratulated by Rey Mysterio, Natalya, Bianca Belair, Ricochet, R-Truth, Kairi Sane, Cedric Alexander, Akira Tozawa and The Street Profits.

Bobby Lashley  vs. Humberto Carrillo – No Disqualification Match

Bobby Lashley wins by submission when he makes Carrillo tap to the Full Nelson.

Winner: Bobby Lashley

The Street Profits are backstage talking about what The Viking Raiders said about them, about how whatever they could do, they could do better. But Ford say they can put it to the test in a game of basketball.

The Viking Raiders ask why they would challenge them in basketball. Ivar reminds Erik he was the one that said whatever they could do, they could do better.

Asuka is interviewed backstage about her newfound title. Kairi Sane joins her backstage and celebrates with her.

We get a recap of Edge and Orton’s WrestleMania match.

Andrade, Austin Theory, Angel Garza and Zelina Vega are backstage arguing over something.

Angel Garza vs. Akira Tozawa

Garza defeats Tozawa with the Wing Clipper while staring down Theory ringside.

Winner: Angel Garza

After the match, Garza and Austin continue arguing and Andrade gets involved before Drew McIntyre comes out. Drew offers to take all of them on and he quickly Claymores Theory and then Garza. He then challenges Andrade and to be a man. Drew shoves Andrade and says to get a referee. Looks like we’re getting an impromptu match.

Drew McIntyre vs. Andrade

Drew hits Andrade with an inverted Alabama Slam followed by a Claymore for the win.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

After the match, Drew says he didn’t come out to have a match, but there’s a reason he comes ready to go. He says anything can happen on Monday Night RAW and he’s always down for a Claymore Party. What he did come out to talk about was that last night, his match with Seth Rollins was a hell of a fight and he freaking brought it, but he endured.

The second piece of news, and the more exciting part, is about the brand to brand invitation. RAW extended an invitation to a certain SmackDown superstar and they not only accepted but they chose him as their opponent. So he’s going to cut to the chase. Three guarantees in life are death, taxes and that everyone on Earth hates him. Next week on RAW, it will be Drew McIntyre vs. King Corbin. He’s happy he finally manned up, but he has a promise for him. He has a Claymore fit for a king waiting.

Backstage, MVP is giving a pep talk to Lashley. MVP says that Lashley looked impressive and that he needs to stay hungry and stay focused. However, he also says that he’s wasting his time picking fights with Humberto Carrillo. Instead, MVP says he should focus his sights on the WWE Champion, because even people from SmackDown are picking fights with him. MVP then asks Lashley when the last time was that he fought for the WWE Championship. He reminds him that it was 2007. MVP asks Lashley when he’s going to let the real Lashley out and to let that thought marinate.

Then, MVP comes across Lana, and she says that whenever Lashley’s ready to be truly unleashed, call him. Lana screams and shouts in frustration.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross host their talk show and wish mothers a happy belated Mother’s Day. Before they can get started, they are interrupted by The IIconics. Alexa says The IIconics are big news….kind of. Kay says Bliss needs to shift her focus on defending the women’s tag team championships tonight. Cross says just because they got upstaged doesn’t mean they are deserving of the championships. Nikki also says just like what Becky is expecting, the titles are like babies for them.

Kay says they don’t have to put the titles on the line if they don’t want to, but they aren’t leaving without a match and Royce says they don’t need the titles to prove how great a team they are. The four argue, and it looks like we have a match.

Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs. The IIconics

Nikki Cross gets dumped on the outside of the ring, Billie Kay hits Bliss in the throat, and The IIconcis hit a double team slam onto Bliss to pick up the win.

Winners: The IIconics

Rey Mysterio is interviewed backstage. Rey says he feels great, but going into last night’s match, he tried hyping himself up by saying that the risk is worth the reward. However, he saw his life flash before his eyes when he was flung off the roof. He says 2 seconds after he shoved off, he fell onto a second roof 6 feet below, and Black met the same fate. He also congratulates Otis, but expresses sorrow over not getting the job done.

While Rey is speaking, he is cut off by Seth Rollins. Mysterio says may the best team win, but he congratulates Seth on becoming a father and he tells him that being a dad changes your life. Rollins stares at him with a blank stare before walking a way. Mysterio calls Rollins a dick.

Cedric Alexander, Ricochet and R-Truth vs. Brendan Vink, Shane Thorne and MVP

Alexander, Ricochet and R-Truth pick up the win when R-Truth hits MVP with the Lie Detector. Truth handed the referee some fake dentures that he’s been playing around with.

Winners: Cedric Alexander, Ricochet and R-Truth

After the match, Bobby Lashley comes out and spears Truth. MVP hits Truth with a big boot after. Lashley tells MVP that they need to talk and MVP goes with him.

Jinder Mahal is interviewed backstage, and he says he’s honored being back on RAW after 10 months and knee surgery. He’s also happy at his old friend, Drew McIntyre winning the WWE Championship. However, Jinder says that just like Drue, he deserves to be respected as well. Jinder is now on a journey to redeem himself and that his journey back to the top will be a hero’s journey.

Up next, we get a recap of the Undertaker’s Last Ride documentary. AJ Styles finds a seat backstage with some popcorn and says this should be good.

Shayna Baszler is backstage, and wants her reaction on Becky’s pregnancy. She says it’s stupid to get knocked up when she’s champion. She then says that Becky Lynch threw being the longest reigning champion ever just to get a parasite. The Man will be reduced to a fat slob sitting on a couch every day eating bon-bons.

We get a recap of the Undertaker’s documentary, and when it’s done, Styles throws a bag of popcorn at the screen and walks away.

Rey Mysterio and Aliester Black vs. Seth Rollins and Murphy

The match ends in DQ when Rollins attacks Mysterio from behind after he stood on the ring apron with a blank expression the entire time. He didn’t tag in and intercepted a 619 attempt. That, apparently, was too much for the ref.

Winners by DQ: Rey Mysterio and Aliester Black

After the match, Rollins targets Mysterio’s eye and sends Aliester Black over the barricade. Murphy attempts to join the assault, but Seth yells at Murphy to stay back. Rollins continues to target Mysterio’s eye. Eventually he slowly lifts Mysterio’s masks and presses Mysterio’s face against the sharp edge of the steel steps before officials come to break it up. Rollins slowly walks to the back.

Mysterio’s bleeding from the eye backstage and Black is with him. Rollins asks about Rey and says he doesn’t know what happened back there. Black gets frustrated and starts brawling with Murphy.

We get the segment with The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders playing basketball. Ivar attempts to throw an alley-oop pass to Erik, but he throws it to the ceiling. The Street Profits and the Raiders get the formal 2 on 2 game started. It’s a halfcourt game and it’s going to be 4 5 minute quarters.

The Profits win the 1st period 21-0. At the end of the 2nd quarter, it’s 37-0. At the end of Period 3, it’s 55-0. At the end of Period 4, it’s 74-2. Erik is able to get a jump shot off the glass. After the game, the two teams show respect, but then The Raiders say that they let The Street Profits win. The Raiders get the basketball and start hitting every shot they take. It concludes with Ivar doing a windmill dunk.

Natalya confronts Shayna Baszler backstage and says that she’s going to teach Baszler a lesson in disrespecting the miracle of having a child. Shayna says Natalya doesn’t know anything about childbirth, and it’s not like she’s going to have kids any time soon. She also says the Hart Dynasty dies with her.

Shyana Baszler vs. Natalya

Baszler defeats Natalya with a big knee strike.

Winner: Shayna Baszler

Natalya kicks the ropes around in frustration after the match.

King Corbin is backstage for an interview and he talks about last night’s MITB ladder match. He said he proved he would do anything to win the briefcase, and that’s exactly what he did. Corbin says Mysterio and Black were both lucky since both of them fell on a 2nd roof six feet below them. Corbin then says that he’s the reason why Drew was WWE Champion because he was riding his coattails and watched him become King of the Ring. Next week, he’ll have to bow down.

Drew McIntyre vs. King Corbin and Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross vs. The IIconics for the women’s tag titles are made official for next week.

Edge comes out and says that he’s always lived in a world of no what-if’s, and he wanted to come back to retire on his terms. WrestleMania wasn’t the end for Edge, and he addresses the promos from RAW saying that he was hunting down Orton, but no one told him about it. However, he and his family are ready to move on because he got his pound of flesh at WrestleMania. Orton comes out after.

Randy says he came out to say congratulations. At WrestleMania, the better man won. Orton leaves the ring, but he comes back and says he can’t lie to himself and can’t lie to him. He says the better man won at WrestleMania, but the better wrestler didn’t. Orton says Edge was able to hide behind 29 other people at WrestleMania, and then Edge won at WrestleMania with a stipulation that he himself chose. Despite what Edge did to Orton, it didn’t take him 9 years to get back on his feet.

Orton says those aren’t traditional wrestling matches, and it’s been 9 years since Edge has wrestled a traditional match since he’s been back. Randy doubts Edge is up for the task. Randy says there is doubt in his eyes, but he has grit and passion because that’s why he’s in the ring. However, all the grit and passion Edge has won’t knock off the ring rust and doesn’t match up to Orton’s talent.

Orton points out everything Edge has said about Orton, about how he’s one of the best ring performers ever and that Edge make shim better, so the story writes itself. If Edge has the guts, at Backlash, it’ll be Edge vs. Orton in a straight up wrestling match. Charly Caruso asks if Edge has a response. Edge doesn’t answer. Charly says if it does happen, it could be the greatest wrestling match ever. RAW goes off the air with Edge having a look of doubt.
