WWE Night Of Champions Kickoff
Show

The hour-long WWE Night Of Champions “Kickoff Show” is officially underway.
The panel consists of Renee Young, Alex Riley, Booker T and Big Show. The four
are running down all of the matches on tonight’s card, giving their thoughts and
insight on each bout.

Peep Show
Christian with
special guest, Chris Jericho

The “expert panel” just passed the ball to the PPV announce team, which as
always, consists of Michael Cole, Jerry Lawler and JBL. With that said,
Christian’s theme song hits and he makes his way to the ring in a suit. It’s
“Peep Show” time with Christian and special guest, Chris Jericho here on the WWE
Night Of Champions “Kickoff Show.”

Christian does a little intro-style talking, addressing his “Peeps” in
Nashville and then finally addressing his guest, “Y2J” Chris Jericho. With that
said, Jericho’s music hits and he makes his way to the ring in his gear, with a
t-shirt on.

The two trade some pleasantries and then get into a goofy, comedic-style
argument about who used to be the leader of their tag-team back in the day.
Funny stuff. From there, Christian introduces a video package showing Randy
Orton attacking Jericho backstage at RAW a few weeks ago.

After the video package, Jericho goes to talk but is interrupted by Randy
Orton. “The Viper” mocks both guys from backstage, airing live on the titan tron
in the arena. Orton is actually in somewhat comedy-mode for this role, mocking
Jericho’s catchphrases and goofing on him. Jericho fires back calling Orton a
“total jackass.” He then reminds Orton who he’s dealing with and promises that
after their match tonight, “The Viper” will never ….ever…be the same,
ah-gain.

Michael Cole Wraps Up The “Kickoff
Show”

That will end the “Peep Show” and the Night Of Champions “Kickoff Show,” as
Michael Cole does a very quick wrap-up on commentary and then informs us that
Night Of Champions is up next. From there, we shoot to one final video package
and then head directly into the show. Here we go, FOLKS!

WWE Night Of Champions
2014

This year’s WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view show opens up with the usual
bad-ass video package. The package highlights the making of WWE title belts, the
history of past champions like Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin, Ric
Flair and others and then switches to focus on tonight’s show and all of the
issues heading into tonight’s big pay-per-view event.

From there, we shoot live into the arena where the announce team welcomes us
to the show. From there, we are informed that the WWE Tag-Team Championship
match will open up the pay-per-view portion of this “special event.”

WWE Tag-Team
Championship
The Usos (c) vs. Goldust & Stardust

The Usos make their way to the ring with their usual Samoan-hip-hop style
entrance. The WWE Tag-Team Champions are in the ring and while they await their
opponents, we see video highlights of the past few weeks of how this issue began
and built. From there, The “Dust Brothers” make their bizarre entrance. Our
first match of the evening is next!

The bell rings and here we go. Goldust and Uso kick things off for their
respective teams. Immediately, Jey Uso establishes the early offensive advantage
in this WWE Tag-Team Championship contest. He beats up Goldust for about 20
seconds or so and then tags in Jimmy, who picks up where he left off.

The battle spills out to the floor where Goldust blasts one of the Uso’s with
a powerslam on the mats outside the ring. Back in the ring, the Dust Brothers
take turns beating down the isolated Uso that they have under control. In fact,
Uso is bleeding quite a bit, but it seems to be from his hand. Not sure what
happened, but his hand is clearly bleeding pretty good. Nothing serious or
anything like that, but definitely noticable.

Uso finally makes the tag to his twin brother and now the Usos are making
their comeback. The action again spills out to the floor, but this time, the Uso
brothers are in control of the offense.

Back in the ring, Uso continues his offensive attack on Goldust and Stardust
until out of nowhere, Stardust kills his momentum by hitting his semi-finishing
move for a pretty close nearfall.

For some reason, Stardust took one of his gloves off. He ties Uso into the
ropes, Andre The Giant style, and proceeds to slap the hell out of him. The
other Uso, from the floor, gets involved, leading to his brother getting untied
from the ropes. It also led to a huge high spot with the Usos doing their
trademark dive out to the floor on both of the Dust Brothers. Out of nowhere,
Stardust rolls one of the Usos up for the 1-2-3. We have new champs!

Winners and NEW WWE Tag-Team
Champions: Goldust & Stardust

WWE United States
Championship
Sheamus (c) vs. Cesaro

Early on, Sheamus takes it to Cesaro, using his brute strength to manhandle
the “King of Swing.” Both guys crash and burn over the top and out to the floor,
where they trade punches back-and-forth until Sheamus throws Cesaro back in the
ring. From the apron, Sheamus hits the battering-ram onto Cesaro in the ring,
where he continues his offensive attack until Cesaro blasts Sheamus with a
European uppercut that knocks Sheamus from the top rope to the floor.

From there, Cesaro gets “The Celtic Warrior” back in the ring and now finds
himself comfortably in control of the offense in this match. He continues the
beat down and out of nowhere, the fans — for whatever reason — start chanting
“we want wrestling.” Odd stuff.

Sheamus from out of the clear blue, blasts Cesaro with his White Noise
semi-finisher. He takes Cesaro on the apron and hits him with his clubbing
blows, but before he can reach ten of them, Cesaro fights his way out and starts
putting it on the U.S. champ. It isn’t long, however, before Sheamus is back in
control of the offense, capping off a nice little mini-comeback with a crazy
high spot off the top rope that’s kind of hard to describe. It looked cool
though and was certainly painful for both guys.

After a series of both guys nearly hitting their finishers, Cesaro caps the
offensive blitz off with a crazy, new, high-impact move for a close near fall
and this match is now getting to the point that it’s becoming amazing. The fans
are really into it, too.

Cesaro, with Sheamus on his knees, literally bitch-smacks him with both hands
I’d say …oh I dunno …20 times? Crazy. In the corner, Sheamus dares Cesaro to
give him some more. Cesaro rushes in to do so but Sheamus catches him coming in
with a Brogue Kick for the 1-2-3. Great match.

Winner and STILL WWE United States
Champion: Sheamus

WWE Intercontinental
Championship
The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler (c)

Justin Roberts introduces Florida Georgia Line. The boys join the announcers
for commentary and reveal that they will be performing at the WWE Tribute To The
Troops special in December.

After all of that stuff, The Miz and Damien Mizdow make their way to the ring
together. From there, out comes the WWE I-C champ Ziggler, who is with R-Truth.
The two guys stay outside of the ring for this title contest and the bell rings.
Here we go!

Early on, the I-C champ Ziggler is having his way with the former champ, The
Miz. The announcers are pretty much ignoring the action to kiss Florida Georgia
Line’s ass and they are plugging their songs, albums and all kinds of other
non-wrestling related stuff more so than they do the “$9.99” Network crap.
Pretty sickening. I mean, it’s obnoxious how much they’re plugging their country
music crap as opposed to focusing on two guys working their butts off inside the
squared circle.

This is turning into a good match, although again, I can’t stress enough, the
announcers are ignoring a lot of the match to kiss this country music band’s
ass. At one point, the country band even gets involved, getting physical with
Miz and Sandow.

Meanwhile, back in the ring, Ziggler, who is selling his knee, is distracted
by Sandow on the apron, setting up Miz, who rolls him up for the 1-2-3. We have
a new I-C champ.

Winner and NEW WWE
Intercontinental Champion: The Miz

Seth Rollins vs. Roman
Reigns

Seth Rollins is introduced and makes his way to the ring. He mocks Roman
Reigns for his weakness and says emergency surgery is no excuse for not showing
up here tonight. He says in the interest of fairness and the interest of
justice, he’s going to give Reigns 10 seconds to get here and face him,
otherwise he’s going to have to accept Reigns’ forefit and get his own hand
raised in victory.

The bell rings and here we go. The ref starts making the count. The fans
chant “we want Amborse” as Rollins smirks proudly and waits to be called the
winner via count out. The ref hits ten with his count and the bell rings again.
Justin Roberts announces Rollins the winner via forefit.

Rollins’ music plays but he gets on the mic and cuts the music off. He says
it’s not official until the ref raises his hand. The ref does so. Rollins then
gets back on the mic and says he knows everyone is disappointed and so is he
because Reigns isn’t half the man he thought he was.

Winner: Seth Rollins

After The Match

After the “match,” Rollins continues to talk trash and ultimately issues an
open challenge. He says if anyone from the backstage area wants to have a match
with him right now, come on out. After a long pause, we see a car pull up and
out walks Dean Ambrose. The crowd explodes. Ambrose makes his way to the ring
and here we go!

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth
Rollins

Ambrose beats on Rollins and knocks him out of the ring. Immediately, Ambrose
and Rollins head into the crowd. Ambrose goes to work on Rollins as the
announcers remind everyone that the last time we saw Ambrose, he was having his
head slammed through cinder blocks courtesy of Rollins.

Dean Ambrose continues to beat up on Rollins as we see The Authority come out
to the top of the stage. They have security come out and separate the two.
Ambrose jumps off a big platform and crashes onto The Authority and security,
knocking everyone down. Then he jumps off another platform onto Rollins
individually, knocking him out as well.

The battle continues as Ambrose takes Rollins through the crowd again and the
wild man continues to beat down “Mr. Money In The Bank.”

We finally get back towards the ring where The Authority and security get
Ambrose down and they literally tie Ambrose up and carry him off. He doesn’t go
willingly at all, but they eventually restrain him and he’s taken away.
Meanwhile, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon pose with Rollins as they head up the
ramp, somewhat celebrating.

Winner: No Contest

Mark Henry vs. Rusev

Mark Henry’s theme music hits and out walks The World’s Strongest Man. His
match with Rusev is up next here at the WWE Night Of Champions pay-per-view. As
Henry enters the ring, Justin Roberts introduces Lilian Garcia, who sings the
National Anthem for the U.S. Henry legitimately tears up during this, which the
WWE production team makes sure to get many close-ups of.

From there, Rusev and Lana make their way out, waiving the giant Russian
flag. Perfect set up as the crowd was pationately chanting “U.S.A.” after Lilian
sang the national anthem and the second Rusev’s theme hit, the crowd boo’d like
crazy. They definitely got the nationalism going strong with that set up and the
fans are fully into it already.

Straight from the word “go,” Henry has been in complete and total control of
this match. I can’t recall a time where Rusev has been on the wrong-end of a
one-sided beatdown like this.

Eventually, the action spills out to the floor where Rusev bashes Henry
back-first into the ring steps. Back in the ring now and Rusev seems to be in
control at this point.

Rusev dominates for several minutes, all-the-while Henry sells his back from
the smashing it took into the steps outside of the ring early on, however now,
Henry is making his comeback. Rusev is running and trying to avoid him, but
Henry is staying on him, however he’s super-selling his back injury the entire
tmie. Rusev slaps The Accolade on Henry and he taps out.

Winner: Rusev

Chris Jericho vs. Randy
Orton

After a quick Brock Lesnar video package, Chris Jericho’s theme music hits.
Out he comes with his goofy-ass, light-bright jacket to a huge ovation from the
fans in the Bridgestone Arena. After that, Randy Orton’s theme hits. Out comes
“The Viper” for this one-on-one match.

Jericho and Orton battle into the corner as soon as the bell sounds. Jericho
with shoulder thrusts. Orton turns it around and hits uppercuts in the corner.
Jericho fights back with chops. Orton drops him with a shoulder. Orton runs the
ropes and Jericho nails a dropkick. Jericho clotheslines Orton out to the floor.
Jericho runs the ropes and baseball slides Orton in front of the announcers.
Jericho slams Orton’s face into the Spanish announcers table and slaps him.
Jericho sends Orton into the steel steps.

Both guys head back into the ring and Orton takes control. Orton runs into a
big boot and Jericho fights back with more chops. Orton runs into boots. Jericho
goes to the top but Orton takes his leg out. Orton climbs up for a superplex and
nails it. Orton keeps control but can’t get the pin. Orton tosses Jericho out to
the floor in front of the announcers. Orton back drops Jericho on top of the
announcers table. Orton brings it back in the ring for a 2 count. Jericho
finally fights back and takes Orton down. Jericho with a shoulder tackle and
another takedown for a 2 count.

Y2J is still in the offensive lead but Orton nails a nice powerslam out of
nowhere for a 2 count. Jericho ends back up on top and hits a big right hand on
the way down. Jericho with a bulldog. Orton comes right back and lays Jericho
out with a backbreaker. Jericho blocks a RKO and nails the Lionsault for a 2
count. More back and forth. Orton blocks the Walls of Jericho. Jericho charges
and Orton sends him into the ring post. Orton readies for a punt kick but
Jericho dodges it and rolls Orton up for 2. Jericho goes for the Walls again and
gets it locked in. Orton gets close to the ropes but Jericho pulls him back to
the middle of the ring. Orton counters the hold and kicks Jericho out of the
ring. Jericho comes right back to the apron but Orton nails the draping DDT.

Orton is looking for an RKO, but Jericho ends up blasting him with a
Codebreaker out of nowhere. He goes for the pin but Orton kicks out. The fans
popped big for that one. Jericho heads to the top rope and as he comes flying
off, Orton catches him coming down with an RKO. 1-2-3. Orton wins.

Winner: Randy Orton

WWE Divas
Championship
AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella vs. Paige (c)

AJ Lee is introduced by Lilian Garcia, who has been switching off-and-on with
Justin Roberts for in-ring introductions tonight. Finally, the WWE Divas
Champion Paige makes her way to the ring. Our triple-threat match for the Divas
Championship is next here at WWE Night Of Champions.

The bell rings and here we go. Nikki and Paige team up on AJ early on, but
Paige eventually powders out, leaving AJ and Nikki alone in the ring. The “CM
Punk” chants immediately fire up as Nikki throws AJ around like a rag doll. AJ
is out of the ring now as Nikki and Paige go at it.

AJ and Paige are along in the ring now with AJ laid out. Paige grabs AJ but
simply hugs her. AJ pushes Paige so Paige kicks her and screams, “why don’t you
love me?!”

The action continues and I kid you not, this match is turning out to be
pretty damn good. Lots of close near falls and pretty big high spots. In the
end, AJ catches Paige with the Black Widow and Paige taps out. AJ wins by
submission and becomes the new WWE Divas Champion for the third time in what was
actually a really solid little Divas match.

Winner and NEW WWE Divas Champion:
AJ Lee

WWE World Heavyweight
Championship
John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar (c)

The Kickoff Show panel is introduced again and the four give their thoughts
on the Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena main event rematch, which is up next. After
that, we see the Lesnar-Cena video package that tells the story of their journey
heading into tonight’s Night Of Champions pay-per-view.

After the video package, which was awesome, by the way, concludes, John
Cena’s theme song hits and out he comes to his usual mixed reaction, which leans
more towards “boo’s” here in Nashville, Tennessee. From there, Brock Lesnar,
alongside his “advocate,” Paul Heyman, make their way to the ring. Our WWE Night
Of Champions pay-per-view main event is next, ladies and gentlemen!

Justin Roberts does the formal introductions for this WWE World Heavyweight
Championship main event rematch. The bell rings and immediately the “let’s go
Cena” and “Cena sucks” dueling chants break out from the fans in Nashville. Just
as quick, Lesnar begins dominating Cena. He goes for a suplex but Cena avoids
it. Cena ends up clotheslining Lesnar and hitting the Attitude Adjustment
immediately. He goes for the cover but Lesnar kicks out before the referee can
even count to two.

Cena goes after Lesnar again but Lesnar slaps a kimura on Cena from the
bottom and he’s wrenching it in as Cena screams in pain. Cena eventually gets to
the ropes, forcinng Lesnar to break the hold. The “let’s go Cena” and “Cena
sucks” dueling chants break out again, very loud this time, as Lesnar is now in
firm control of the offense in this match.

Aside from Cena’s early flurry and Attitude Adjustment, it has thus far been
a one-sided squash match with Lesnar in control the entire time. After taking
several minutes of one-sided punishment, Cena finally catches Lesnar coming into
the corner with a back-elbow. From there he throws a bunch of additional elbows
and punches, however when he goes for another Attitude Adjustment attempt,
Lesnar reverses into one of many German suplexes in this match and is now back
in complete offensive control.

Lesnar beats on Cena for a few more minutes until out of the blue, Cena
somehow hoists Lesnar up for an Attitude Adjustment. He goes for the pin but
Lesnar kicks out at two. Lesnar and Cena are both down. They get up and Lesnar
goes for an F-5. Cena aviods it and slaps the STF on Lesnar out of nowhere.
Lesnar doesn’t tap out and furthermore, reverses into another kimura attempt on
Cena. Lesnar holds onto the move and the ref does the hand three-times up thing,
with Cena keeping his hand held high on the third try. Lesnar still has the
kimura locked in as the two stand up but Cena fights his way out.

Cena grabs Lesnar and for the third time, hits him with an Attitude
Adjustment. Instead of pinning him, however, he locks the STF in once again,
with Michael Cole pointing out that Cena doesn’t want to just beat Lesnar, he
wants to make him tap out. Lesnar nearly reaches the ropes but Cena drags him to
the middle of the ring. Lesnar crawls to the ropes but Cena again yanks him back
into the middle of the ring. Cena grabs Lesnar and hits him with another
Attitude Adjustment. Before he can do anything else, Seth Rollins comes from out
of nowhere and blasts him with the briefcase. He knocks Cena out of the ring and
Cole questions if Rollins is going to cash-in. Meanwhile, the ref calls for the
bell.

Winner via Disqualification: John
Cena

After The Match

Rollins debates whether or not to cash in. He blasts Lesnar with a curb stomp
and then cashes in. Justin Roberts makes the announcement that Rollins is
cashing in. Before Rollins can go back into the ring, Cena grabs him and beats
on him. The announcers debate if the bell ever rang to start the match and make
it official (it didn’t, by the way) so they point out that Rollins technically
didn’t cash in (even though we heard him say it off-mic on camera and despite
the fact that the announcer officially announced that he did cash in).

As Rollins runs away from Cena, Lesnar is back up and he hits a big F-5 on
Cena. The announcer makes the match announcement, pointing out that Cena wins
via DQ. After a pause, he then says still WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Brock
Lesnar. Lesnar raises the title up and his music plays as he leaves with Paul
Heyman as Cena is laid out in the ring. The announcers again point out that
Rollins is still “Mr. Money In The Bank” as he technically didn’t officially
cash in his briefcase tonight.
