WWE NXT Results for April 18, 2023


Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT is presented from the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.

  • The episode started with a brawl with the three tag teams for the title match already fighting.
  • NXT Tag Team Championship Triple Threat Match: Gallus (c) defeated The Creed Brothers and The Dyad to retain. Wolfgang pinned Brutus Creed.
  • Earlier today, a cameraman was trying to interview Dijak, who lashed out at him. Apollo Crews stepped in to say that was unnecessary, leading to a match booked for tonight.
  • Nathan Frazer’s new gimmick is that of a news anchor, in a way, with a show called Hard Hitting Home Truths, about how everyone in NXT is a top athlete and it is okay to lose, but he’s going to turn things around.
  • Noam Dar defeated Myles Borne by pinfall.
  • Kiana James was approached in her office by Josh Briggs, asking her for a favor to talk to Brooks Jensen, since he hasn’t been talking to him. Jensen came into the office next and has a whole new look to clearly fit Kiana’s aesthetic. He tells Briggs that they aren’t family and tells him to leave.
  • Odyssey Jones came out for a match, but was attacked by Bron Breakker. Breakker then got a microphone to call Chase University, Carmelo Hayes and others a bunch of clowns. Duke Hudson interrupted to challenge Breakker to a match at Spring Breakin’, but for Andre Chase.
  • Cora Jade doesn’t regret saying what she said last week, but Gigi Dolin interrupted the interview to say she’s going to kick her ass.
  • Pretty Deadly wants to fight Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo in a match where anything goes.
  • Roxanne Perez defeated Zoey Stark by pinfall. Following the match, Indi Hartwell came out to say Roxanne should get a title shot next week at Spring Breakin’. Roxanne obviously accepted the offer. Then, Tiffany Stratton interrupted to complain that she’s more deserving and that Indi only won the title by pure dumb luck and is setting herself up for beatable opponents. Roxanne pointed out that she beat Tiffany in the NXT Breakout Tournament. Indi then said she can beat both of them in a Triple Threat match.
  • Last week, Von Wagner tried to convince Mr. Stone that he’s ready now. He then admitted that this is in his blood and his dad is a Beverly Brother. Mr. Stone seemed to have a change of heart.
  • Cora Jade defeated Gigi Dolin by pinfall due in part to some interference from Jacy Jayne. After the match, Lyra Valkyria said she and Cora will do battle at Spring Breakin’.
  • Eddy Thorpe’s interview was interrupted by Damon Kemp, who is clearly not impressed with Thorpe so far.
  • Jensen and James went to Fallon Henley’s bar. Brooks reiterated that he meant everything he’s said, and he should be the star of their team, while Fallon is jealous of his relationship with Kiana. At Spring Breakin’, Jensen and James want to fight Briggs and Henley in a mixed tag team match.
  • Dijak defeated Apollo Crews by pinfall. After the match, Dijak continued to go after Crews until Ilja Dragunov made the save, brawling with Dijak until they were broken apart by officials.
  • Jacy Jayne talked some trash about Gigi Dolin. When she’s done with Dolin, Gigi is going to run away from NXT just like she ran away from her mother and brother.
  • NXT North American Championship Match: Wes Lee (c) defeated Charlie Dempsey by pinfall to retain his title, but was beaten down by Dempsey and Drew Gulak after the match.
  • The show ended with an edition of The Grayson Waller Effect with Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams to hype up next week’s title match.
