Tonight’s episode of WWE NXT is presented from the WWE Capitol Wrestling Center in Orlando, Florida.

- The show started with a promo from Roxanne Perez that was interrupted by Grayson Waller. Both talked trash about each other while discussing their Iron Survivor Challenge wins at Deadline. Bron Breakker went out to tout Perez as great and Waller as garbage. Mandy Rose then attacked Perez, who said she won’t wait until NXT New Year’s Evil and wants a title shot tonight. Rose agreed to it.
- Meanwhile, in the trainer’s room, JD McDonagh was cleared to compete. Julius Creed came over to say he has a bone to pick with McDonagh for why the medics won’t clear him and he’s going to get some payback.
- Then, Tony D’Angelo and Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo attacked Wes Lee backstage, which led into a match between Lee and Stacks.
- Wes Lee defeated Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo by pinfall. Lee was laid out after the match by D’Angelo and Stacks as Dijak watched on and mean-mugged.
- Backstage, Duke Hudson was seen shaking hands with Drew Gulak. Andre Chase and Thea Hail accused him of wanting to transfer. Chase apologized and said that Hudson was right last week about Hail not being ready for Isla Dawn like Hudson said. Duke had her best interest in mind and Chase admits he didn’t look out for her as much as he should. Hudson said he isn’t planning on transferring and plans to give Damon Kemp an Andre Chase University-sized ass whooping.
- Toxic Attraction vs Ivy Nile and Tatum Paxley was a no-contest. A brawl broke out also involving Katana Chance and Kayden Carter.
- Backstage, Fallon Henley got some bad news about the family bar struggling. Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen tried to stay positive and say that 2023 is going to be their year.
- Backstage, Trick Williams showed Carmelo Hayes some tweets Axiom had done to make Hayes look bad.
- Odyssey Jones defeated Von Wagner by pinfall
- Javier Bernal tried out some ideas of what he could name his fandom in an interview with McKenzie Mitchell. He landed on “Big Body Believers”.
- Ikemen Jiro defeated Javier Bernal by pinfall. After the match, Scrypts attacked Jiro.
- Wendy Choo talked about her first slumber party.
- Promo: The New Day talked about their tag title win and all the accolades that come along with it. Pretty Deadly interrupted, wanting a rematch. The New Day said they would have to recite the pledge of allegiance. Jensen and Briggs, said they want a title match instead, recited the pledge (to a cheering crowd) and The New Day agreed to a title shot. “Pretty Deadly, do you see how much easier life is when you just do what we ask?” Xavier Woods asked and they walked off.
- Backstage, Elektra Lopez told some of the women’s division that Indi Hartwell gets big matches, but can’t win, while if she were in the match—and just then, Hartwell attacked her.
- JD McDonagh defeated Brutus Creed by pinfall. Indus Sher had come out during the match and stopped McDonagh from using a chair on Brutus, since they want The Creed Brothers to be 100% for their eventual match.
- McKenzie Mitchell asked Zoey Stark her thoughts on Nikkita Lyons’ reaction TikTok video. Stark thinks Lyons is a waste of space on the roster. She originally didn’t want to wrestle Lyons, but she’s changed her mind.
- Lyra Valkyria defeated Amari Miller by pinfall.
- Kiana James gave Brooks Jensen an early Christmas gift of a nice shirt “that actually fits”. James thinks Jensen should focus on winning the tag team titles, rather than being concerned about Fallon Henley’s family bar.
- Also backstage, Ivy Nile, Tatum Paxley, Kayden Carter, Katana Chance and Toxic Attraction got into another fight.
- Duke Hudson defeated Damon Kemp by pinfall.
- A video package aired for the countdown to the new year on Tuesday, January 10th.
- Next week, there will be a triple threat match for the NXT Women’s Tag Team Championship between Toxic Attraction, Chance and Carter, and Nile and Paxley, Carmelo Hayes and Axiom will fight, and Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs will get a shot at The New Day’s tag team titles.
- NXT Women’s Championship Match: Roxanne Perez defeated Mandy Rose by pinfall to win the title!
