Here are the full results for the episode of WWE RAW airing on May 22, 2023. This is the go home episode before Night Of Champions.
WWE RAW Results (5/22/2023)
The show opens with Cody Rhodes being taken out backstage by Brock Lesnar smashing him with a keg. Following that, Paul Heyman is in the ring with a microphone. He enlightens us on a few things, including Brock Lesnar, the horrible state of Hershey, Pennsylvania, and Night Of Champions. Sami Zayn & KO will lose their tag team titles back to The Bloodline. After some selling, he welcomes us to Monday Night RAW.
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn enter make their way to the ring. They recap what happened on SmackDown when The Usos attacked KO/Zayn, and later lost to the LWO in a match. In light of Roman Reigns dedicating to The Wild Samoans, Kevin Owens dedicates their title defense to The Usos. Imperium interrupts them. The Original Bro, Matt Riddle, rushes to KO & Zayn’s side, which makes Imperium back away. They eventually decide to rush the ring, anyway, but it backfires as KO, Zayn & Riddle get the upper hand.
#1. Ricochet vs. Bronson Reed — Winner: Bronson Reed
Apollo Crews almost has an interview, but Dominik Mysterio hijacks it so “Mami” can take the time instead. While Rhea Ripley is warning her next opponent, she is cut off by Crews. He asks Dom if he’s going to do anything about it, which he & Ripley confirm.
In the continuation of Corey Graves’ interview with Seth Rollins, he says he loves Roman Reigns, but he doesn’t care for who he is now. He has no respect for him. Reigns has poisoned his own ego and taken opportunities away from everyone else. Rollins wants to become World Champion, so we can all forget about Roman Reigns.
Shinsuke Nakamura had a run-in with Damian Priest backstage and Finn Balor got in the middle of it. Tonight, Balor will face Nakamura and maybe just leave enough for Priest to pick the bones.
Zoey Stark says she is undisputed. People won’t like her because she is going to take all their favorite superstars and team them apart. The Zoey Stark era begins.
#2. Candice LeRae vs. Zoey Stark — Winner: Zoey Stark
While Mustafa Ali worries about his IC title match, Brock Lesnar walks by and tells him to “Get a life, kid”. I have to admit to laughing at how spontaneous this was. Lesnar makes his way to the ring. He mocks Cody Rhodes and tells us he won’t be fighting him this Saturday at Night Of Champions. Don’t you worry, though, because Brock Lesnar will not let you down.
He is issuing an open challenge to anyone back there to fight him at Night Of Champions. All you gotta’ do is step out and step up to Brock Lesnar. Cody Rhodes appears with his arm in a sling, with officials desperately trying to stop him. Cody takes off his sling and Brock applies the Kimura lock on the same arm. After a while, he releases it and leaves.
#3. Alpha Academy (w/ Maxxine Dupri) vs. The Viking Raiders (w/ Valhalla) — Winners: Alpha Academy
#4. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Finn Balor (w/ Damian Priest) — Winner: Finn Balor
#5. Raquel Rodriguez vs. Sonya Deville (w/ Chelsea Green) — Winner: Raquel Rodriguez
Shotzi comes to Raquel’s aid after she is double teamed. Looks like Raquel has a new partner.
Trish Stratus asks Adam Pearce if they can have a no touch policy for the face to face encounter with Becky Lynch. He doesn’t believe that is necessary.
When they get to the contract signing, Trish Stratus does what she can to get under Becky’s skin, but The Man is as cool as a cucumber. She says she is #1 and was the minute she stepped back in WWE. Trish asks what happens when she beats her at Night Of Champions? I guess that makes her “it”. She sees her weak spots. Becky is her own worst enemy. When she signs it and finally stops talking, Becky grabs the microphone and says she’s scared. That’s why she was asking Adam Pearce about the no touch policy.
Becky says she only needs to worry about her being back. She wants her flowers? Ok, thank you Trish. Thank you for being everything she hopes she never becomes. She thinks barking like a dog is embarrassing? Wait until she gets her arse beat at Night Of Champions. Woof! Trish Stratus gets out of dodge as it looks like Becky is about to strike.
#6. Apollo Crews vs. Dominik Mysterio (w/ Rhea Ripley) — Winner: Dominik Mysterio
#7. Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens & Matt Riddle vs. Imperium’s Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser & Giovanni Vinci — Winners: Zayn, KO & Riddle
Triple H consoles Cody Rhodes and pleads with him to get medical attention. No one is questioning how tough he is. He fought Seth Rollins with a torn pec, but this is different. Cody isn’t having any of it. He is going to Night Of Champions to face Brock Lesnar. Triple H doesn’t seem to disagree with this statement before walking out.
