Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE programming for those who may have missed out.
Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the breaking news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.
Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.
With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.
MONDAY NIGHT RAW
- AJ Styles defeated Sheamus by pinfall. Styles and Omos attacked Sheamus after the match with a steel chair while he was trapped inside the ropes.
- Six-Man Tag Team Match: The Hurt Business (Bobby Lashley, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin) defeated Jeff Hardy and The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) by submission.
- Lana defeated Nia Jax by pinfall. Jax and Shayna Baszler attacked Lana after the match and damaged her leg to the point where she’s been taken out of her match at TLC.
- Elias and Jaxson Ryker cut a promo. R-Truth interrupted and some superstars tried to chase him down for the 24/7 Championship. Ryker took everyone out while R-Truth ran away.
- 2-on-1 Handicap Match: The Miz and John Morrison defeated Keith Lee by pinfall.
- Randy Orton challenged Bray Wyatt to a game of hide and seek. Eventually, Orton attacked Wyatt backstage, put him in a crate and set it on fire, but The Fiend came out of the flaming box and put Orton down with a Mandible Claw.
- Mace defeated Ricochet by pinfall.
- Dana Brooke defeated Shayna Baszler by disqualification when Nia Jax interfered. Mandy Rose and then Asuka came out to help Brooke.
- Matt Riddle defeated MVP by pinfall.
- There was another promo and fight between Drew McIntyre and AJ Styles (and The Miz, John Morrison and Omos) for the “WWE Championship ascension ceremony” of hanging the title.
NXT
- Austin Theory and Johnny Gargano defeated Kushida and Leon Ruff by pinfall.
- Tommaso Ciampa defeated Tyler Rust by pinfall.
- No. 1 Contender’s Match: Kyle O’Reilly defeated Pete Dunne by pinfall.
- Shotzi Blackheart defeated Indi Hartwell by disqualification when Hartwell hit Blackheart with Candice LeRae’s trophy. The Way laid Shotzi out after the bell.
- Karrion Kross defeated Desmond Troy by submission.
- Toni Storm defeated Rhea Ripley by pinfall.
MAIN EVENT
- R-Truth signed a contract for a future title match against Drew Gulak for the 24/7 Championship.
- Nikki Cross defeated Lacey Evans by pinfall.
NXT UK
- Kay Lee Ray defeated Isla Dawn by pinfall
- Saxon Huxley lost to Jack Starz and Levi Muir by pinfall in a 2-on-1 handicap match. Dave Mastiff came out to fight off Huxley afterward.
- WALTER interrupted A-Kid’s promo about winning the Heritage Cup. They’ll fight at some point in the new year for the NXT UK Championship. In 3 weeks, Piper Niven vs Jinny will be a No. 1 contender’s match, too.
- Trent Seven is taking some time off to regroup after his Heritage Cup loss.
- Rampage Brown defeated Josh Morrell by pinfall.
- Gallus retained the NXT UK Tag Team Championship over The Hunt by pinfall.
FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
- Multiple times throughout the night, Kevin Owens fought with Jey Uso.
- The Street Profits defeated Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode by pinfall to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championship.
- The Riott Squad defeated Billie Kay and Tamina by pinfall.
- Carmella had a “Champagne Toast” (ie, she cut a promo about TLC.) Sasha Banks came out. Fight fight fight for a few seconds. Carmella smashed another bottle of champagne on her.
- Otis defeated Shinsuke Nakamura by pinfall.
- Sami Zayn presented the 1st Annual Sami Awards, giving himself awards. Except, Big E changed “Superstar of the Year” to himself to mess with Zayn, who he then laid out.
- Bayley defeated Bianca Belair by pinfall.

- Ever-Rise defeated The Bollywood Boyz by pinfall
- Jake Atlas defeated Tony Nese by pinfall
