Welcome to another edition of WWE Recap Report — a breakdown of the biggest takeaways of the week from WWE programming for those who may have missed out.
Whether you need to catch up on a show, had too busy of a week to stay on top of the breaking news or just skipped out on WWE as a whole, I’ve got you covered.
Obviously, not every single thing will be recapped here in detail. But this is your TL;DR of the week to be caught up to speed before the next Monday Night Raw so you’re not left in the dark.
With that being said, here is a quick rundown of this week in WWE.
MONDAY NIGHT RAW
- Drew McIntyre defeated Jinder Mahal by pinfall.
- Karrion Kross defeated Jeff Hardy by submission.
- Alexa Bliss defeated Doudrop by pinfall.
- Sheamus defeated Ricochet by pinfall.
- Damian Priest defeated John Morrison by pinfall.
- T-Bar defeated Mustafa Ali by pinfall.
- Reggie evaded R-Truth and Akira Tozawa attempting to pin him for the 24/7 Championship.
- Charlotte Flair interrupted Rhea Ripley vs. Nikki A.S.H., causing Nikki to win by disqualification.
- A vignette aired with Elias saying WWE stood for Walk With Elias, but no longer, as Elias is dead.
- Randy Orton defeated AJ Styles by pinfall.
NXT
- Dakota Kai (replacing Ember Moon, who was announced originally for the match, but is supposedly not medically cleared to compete) defeated Sarray by pinfall.
- After the Kai/Sarray match, Raquel Gonzalez came out and said she would tear Dakota Kai apart at TakeOver.
- Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis went on their first date.
- Ilja Dragunov cut a promo about his upcoming NXT UK Championship match against WALTER, which was interrupted by Pete Dunne, who took offense to Dragunov receiving the title shot. This set up a challenge for later on.
- LA Knight defeated Andre Chase by pinfall. After the match, a match was set up for TakeOver where the Million Dollar Championship is on the line and if Cameron Grimes loses, Ted DiBiase becomes LA Knight’s butler.
- Gigi Dolin defeated Amari Miller by pinfall.
- Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly met face-to-face. The stipulations of their 2-out-of-3 falls match were clarified. The first is a regular match, the second is a Street Fight and the third is inside a steel cage.
- NXT Breakout Tournament Semifinal Match: Odyssey Jones defeated Trey Baxter by pinfall.
- Boa defeated Drake Maverick by pinfall.
- A “special look” at the rivalry between Karrion Kross and Samoa Joe aired in a video package to highlight that feud ahead of TakeOver.
- Pete Dunne defeated Ilja Dragunov by pinfall in part due to a distraction by WALTER who came out toward the end of the match to stand ringside and watch. After the match, WALTER went after Dragunov, but Dragunov was able to fight back and send WALTER out of the ring.
MAIN EVENT
- Aliyah defeated Dakota Kai
- Odyssey Jones defeated Austin Theory
NXT UK
- Wolfgang defeated Flash Morgan Webster by pinfall.
- Sid Scala announced that Rampage Brown and Joe Coffey will face each other in two weeks in a match that can only be won by knockout or submission.
- Backstage, Isla Dawn awkwardly stalked Dani Luna.
- Moustache Mountain spoke about being on a path to win the NXT Tag Team Championship, which will make a Triple Crown for Tyler Bate.
- In two weeks, Jinny will face Aoife Valkyrie in a No Disqualification Match. Joseph Conners will be locked in a cage at ringside, which Jinny was upset about.
- Amale defeated Nina Samuels by pinfall.
- After the show two weeks ago, Symbiosis was interrupted in their interview by Saxon Huxley, who ranted “better luck next time” repeatedly.
- A video promoted the upcoming match between Meiko Satomura and Stevie Turner next week.
- Pretty Deadly spoke about how they’ll beat Moustache Mountain next week.
- NXT UK Heritage Cup No. 1 Contender Tournament: Noam Dar defeated Mark Andrews 2-1 to advance to the semifinals.
FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN
- John Cena and Roman Reigns opened the show with a promo hyping their upcoming title match and how each one is going to beat the other.
- Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Apollo Crews by pinfall to win the Intercontinental Championship.
- The Street Profits defeated Alpha Academy by pinfall.
- Seth Rollins cut a promo about Edge.
- Dominik and Rey Mysterio defeated Dirty Dawgs by pinfall.
- Baron Corbin asked for everyone in the arena to give him a thousand dollars. Kevin Owens came out and eventually hit him with a Stunner. Then, Owens beat Corbin by pinfall. After that, Corbin stole Big E’s Money in the Bank briefcase and ran off.
- Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks had a contract signing mediated by Sonya Deville. Banks enlisted help from Carmella and Zelina Vega to back her up and the three of them took out Belair to end the show.
