WWE Smackdown (2/6) Results: Orton Vs. Christian


[Show: WWE Smackdown] [Location: Des Moines, Iowa] [Date: 2/6/14]

Welcome to Friday Night Smackdown, we kick things off with Daniel Bryan making his way to the ring. Bryan says that the crowd is great and then begins by talking about the Authority and how they booked him in a match against Randy Orton on Monday night. He says he does not want to be the face of the WWE, because when he beat Orton and they showed their true colors when they sent Kane out to choke slam him to hell. He asks Kane to come out and he does. Bryan cuts him off and says that he cannot hear him from the stage, because of the crowd and tells him to get down to the ring. Kane says that he apologizes to Bryan for attacking him on Raw. Bryan asks him what the hell is he talking about (Kane using big words) Bryan brings up their old relationship as a tag team (Team Hell No) He says that the old Kane was his friend. He says the Authority tried to do the same thing to him and he told them to shove it. Bryan says go get his mask out of his office. Kane acknowledges their history and blows it off. He books a match for tonight, he says that Daniel Bryan will take on Antonio Cesaro.

-Commercial Break-

Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns vs. Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler

Kofi and Ambrose start things off, they trade working the arm of each other. Finally Kofi hits a take down / splash combination for a near fall. Dolph in and hits a hip toss for a near fall. Dolph with right hands followed by a elbow drop repeatedly then covers him for a near fall. Ambrose throws her into the corner and tags in Reigns. He hits a big clothesline and by the way Seth Rollins is on commentary. The shield stays in control for a bit, until Ziggler hits a big DDT and tags in Kofi. Kingston clears house and nails a drop kick on Ambrose. He shoots off the ropes and caught then driven throat first into the ropes. Reigns tagged in and hits a drop kick for a near fall.

-Commercial Break-

Ambrose is in control and dominating the action. The Shield stays in control until Kofi battles out of the corner and hits a cross-body, he gets the hot tag to Ziggler. Ziggler hits a cross-body and a drop kick onto reigns. He nails a splash in the corner followed by punches. Dolph with a neck breaker, he goes for the fameaser, but blocked and Reigns nails a suplex. He hits the super man punch, Ambrose distracts Reigns. Kofi knocks off Ambrose. Ziggler hits the big DDT for a near fall. Ziggler goes for Zig Zag, but blocked and Reigns hits the super man punch. He hits the spear and then tags in Ambrose. Dean covers him for the win.

Winners: the Shield in 11:25

After the match, the Wyatt Family comes on the big screen. Bray says that the shield is acting like children. He says that the Shield thinks that Bray is a joke, he says he is a monster and they would realize how real he is.

Sheamus is shown walking in the back for his match.

Sheamus Vs. Ryback

They lock up and test each other’s strengths. Sheamus with a big shoulder block, Axel tries to trip Sheamus, but does not work. Ryback goes for a power slam, but blocked and Sheamus hits a big rolling senton. He nails a probe kick on Curtis Axel on the outside. Sheamus with clubbing shots to the chest on Ryback. However Ryback blocks it and hits a spine buster. Ryback hits a big clothesline in the corner followed by a suplex and a splash for a near fall. Ryback locks in a chin lock, but Sheamus fights out. Ryback with a punch and nails a power bomb. He goes to the top rope (Really?) and misses the splash. Sheamus with right hands then the big men trade right hands. Sheamus fires up and connects with a spear then misses the running knee. Sheamus powers out and hits the suplex. He motions for the PROBE and Ryback counter with a powerbomb for a near fall. Ryback goes for the meat hook clothesline, but runs into the Probe kick for the win.

Winner: Sheamus in 5:40

Alberto Del Rio does a backstage promo about his action against Batista on this past week’s Raw.

Daniel Bryan vs. Antonio Cesaro

Cesaro gets on the attack first, but Bryan nails leg kicks and knee’s to the chest of Cesaro. He throws him into the ropes and nails a knee to the gut. Cesaro with an uppercut for a near fall. They grapple back and forth, but Bryan nails a head take over. Bryan goes for the head kick, Cesaro reverses and hits a powerbomb. Bryan with a hip toss and locks in a arm submission. Cesaro picks him up and hits a slam to get out of the submission (Awesome) Cesaro with upper cuts in the corner then a snapping suplex for a near fall. Bryan fights out with right out and he nails a clothesline. Bryan puts him on the top rope where he hits a head take over for a near fall. Cesaro hits a reverse suplex and keeps control as Cole likes to say, as we roll on.

Were back and Cesaro hits a splash in the corner. Bryan with right hands as he fights out of the corner. Cesaro hits a big boot, but misses the clothesline and he goes to the floor. Bryan hits a flying knee to Swagger. Bryan comes off the top rope, but Cesaro hits an uppercut for a near fall. Cesaro goes for the giant swing, but Bryan blocks it and rolls him up for a near fall. Cesaro with a big kick and goes for neutralizer, but blocked. Bryan with a knee to the face and locks in the YES lock for the win.

Winner: Bryan in 11:32

After the match, Cesaro and Kane attacked Bryan.

AJ Lee vs. Nikki Bella

They start out brawling, Nikki with a suplex. She throws her into corner, but AJ reversed and locked in a head lock. Nikki fights out, but AJ hits a drop kick in the back. Nikki with a clothesline and a drop kick. Nikki with a back body drop and goes for a neck breaker. Tamina distracts her and accidentally sends AJ into Brie when she was on the apron. AJ locks in her finisher (black widow) for the win.

Winner: AJ Lee in 2:35

We are shown how the Prime Time Players are no longer a tag team anymore. Titus O’Neal explains why he attacked Darren Yong. He says because he is not a loser and Darren Young is a loser. DY attacks him and they start brawling until the referee’s break them up.

-Commercial Break-

Bray Wyatt vs. Goldust

We are graced by Bray Wyatt as he competes on Smackdown. Goldust with a take down, but Bray with a right hand. Bray with a clothesline and chokes him. Bray with a head butt and a knee to the gut. Bray send shim into the corner, but Goldust reverses it into an elbow to the face. Goldust with a series of clothesline then lands a series of right hands. Goldust with a head take over off the middle rope. He nails a big spine buster and feeds to the crowd. Bray runs to the floor and Goldust hits a rolling senton taking out Bray. MR. Wyatt hits Sister Abigail for the win.

Winner: Bray Wyatt

After the match Cody covers Goldust and the Shield come on the big screen. Dean Ambrose says that they are the best and they prove that at the Elimination Chamber. Seth Rollins says that they are not scared of them.

-Commercial Break-

Randy Orton vs. Christian

Orton with a kick to the gut and a clubbing right hand to the back of Christian. Out of nowhere Christian sends him out to the floor and nails a baseball slide, but misses the outside dive. Orton looks into the crowd and sends him back in the ring. Orton runs into an elbow and Christian sends him to the floor. Christian with a flying shoulder block off the top rope to break.

-Commercial Break-

Were and Christian is driven head first into the ring post. Orton suplex’s him back firs into the barricade. Back in the ring, he lands a series of uppercuts. Christian with a right hand, but runs into a drop kick for a near fall. Christian with back suplex and gets the crowd involved. They trade right hands, Christian with ten punches in the corner, but Orton fights out and hits a clothesline. Christian uses the ropes to get the advantage and climbs the top rope. He nails a cross-body for a near fall. He goes to the other top rope and hits the spinning elbow to the jaw. He goes for the kill switch, but blocked. Orton hits a power slam for a near fall. Orton sends him shoulder first into the ring post, Orton hits the DDT off the second rope, but blocked. Christian with a right hand, he goes to the top rope for the splash. Orton moves and Orton hits the DDT off the second rope. Orton motions for the end, he goes for the RKO, but blocked. Christian goes for kill switch, but blocked. Christian goes for a spring board dive, but Orton nails the RKO for the win.

Winner: Orton in 11:58
