WWE SmackDown Live Results for May 13, 2022

RK-Bro opens up the show with a promo. Orton and Riddle call out Roman Reigns to the ring, but it’s Sami Zayn who answers the call, wearing a Bloodline t-shirt. Zayn says as the locker room leader, he’s happy to address things on Roman’s behalf. Zayn says nobody wants to see the Tag Team Titles unified. He adds that RK-Bro shouldn’t want the unification match either, because they will lose.

Randy Orton said that, since he’s the shot caller, make the match – Sami Zayn vs. Riddle. If Riddle wins, they get the match for the Tag Team Unification match. Zayn says fine, lets do it. However, there’s no way it will happen tonight. Maybe in a week or two. Adam Pierce comes out and says, while he doesn’t like him competing on behalf of The Bloodline, it’s official – Sami Zayn will face Riddle, right now.

Sami Zayn vs. Matt Riddle

Riddle nearly lost via count out but was able to jump back in and beat the 10 count at 9. Riddle got back inside the ring and hit Zayn with his finisher for the three count.

Winner: Sami Zayn

We get a backstage shot of The Bloodline in their locker room. Roman asks why RK-Bro is on his show. The Usos said tonight the whole world will acknowledge the Tribal Chief.

Ronda Rousey, the NEW SmackDown Women’s Champion will be up next.

We get a backstage shot of Sami Zayn after his loss walking backstage. He’s approached by Shinsuke Nakamura. Nakamura says Roman Reigns is The Head Of The Table, but Sami is the table’s ass.

Ronda Rousey hits the ring and says Charlotte Flair is one of the toughest competitors she has ever faced, but she’d die before saying the words “I Quit.” Rousey then issues an Open Challenge for the SmackDown Live Women’s Title. Raquel Rodriguez’s music hits, and she makes her way to the ring. Rodriguez asks for the mic and Rousey hands it over.

Rodriguez introduces herself to Rousey, and accepts her challenge face-to-face. Rodriguez says she may be new to SmackDown, but what better way to be known as SmackDown, than as SmackDown Women’s Champion. She said it’s an honor to face Rousey, but tonight, she’ll be the one making history.

SmackDown Live Women’s Title Match: Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Raquel Rodriguez

A great match from both women, especially Rodriguez who was able to get some solid offense in, but in the end, Rousey retained with a rollup pin.

Winner and STILL SmackDown Women’s Champion: Ronda Rousey

Rousey and Rodriguez shook hands after the match.

We get a backstage segment with Adam Pierce, Shotzi, and Aliyah. Shotzi and Aliyah begin to argue about who should get a shot at the SmackDown Women’s Title, and being pushed out of the way on their ways to answer Rousey’s challenge.

Kayla Braxton is in the ring and welcomes Madcap Moss as her guest. Moss calls his win over Baron Corbin the biggest of his career. He says this is just the beginning of his WWE career. He’d like to form a Mixed Tag Team with Sasha Banks and call it Madcap Boss. He’d also like to win the Money In The Bank Ladder match. However, before he can continue, Baron Corbin hits the ring and beats Moss down with a chair.

He then gets Moss’ Andre The Giant Battle Royal Trophy and brings it in the ring, and continues to beat Moss with the chair. He then puts the chair around Moss’ neck and drops the trophy on it. WWE officials hit the ring to break things up and clear Corbin out the ring.

Back from break, Corbin approaches Moss on the stretcher as he’s being put into an ambulance and cracks a joke, before laughing and walking away.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Title Match: Naomi & Sasha Banks (c) vs. Natalya and Shayna Baszler

A very nice finish as several false finishes were chained together before Naomi was able to reverse a Sharpshooter attempt from Natalya into a rollup pin.

Winners and STILL WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions: Naomi and Sasha Banks

We get a backstage segment between Ricochet and Drew Gulak. Ricochet inspires Gulak to take control of his destiny. Gulak says this new version of him will put Gunther in his place. Gulak walks down the hall and runs into Gunther. Before Gulak can get a word out, Gunther rips Gulak’s shirt off and nails him with a vicious slap to the chest.

Kofi Kingston vs. Butch

Thanks to a distraction outside the ring involving Sheamus and Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston lost focus. Butch was able to capitalize and hit his finisher for the win.

Winner: Butch

Butch, despite the win, decides to throw a fit and again leaves through the crowd. However, Butch comes back to the stage out from the crowd, and changes tune, raising his buddy’s hands and celebrating.

Backstage Sami Zayn is speaking to Paul Heyman, asking him to put in a good word for him with Roman Reigns, as he knows he probably overstepped his bounds earlier tonight trying to stand up for The Bloodline. Heyman tells Zayn that his Tribal Chief appreciates him.

The Bloodline are on their way to the ring. Roman Reigns says The Bloodline always beats their opponents down on Sundays, come out the next week, and tell everyone who is next. Reigns says nobody is next for him because everyone is scared of him. The Usos, however, might have a challenge, but asks, what are they going to do about it. RK-Bro’s music hits, and they come out to the ring.

Orton tells Reigns he didn’t smash John Cena, and Cena is 10x the Superstar he’ll ever be. Riddle says he rewatched their match at WrestleMania Backlash, and says he’s thinking they need to make the Tag Team Unification match happen. Orton throws out the challenge again, and says they’re going to take both sets of titles when it’s all said and done.

The Usos accept the challenge. They also accept the challenge for next week on SmackDown Live. Riddle hits Reigns with a flying knee to the face, and Riddle and Orton both slip out of the ring. The show comes to a close.
