WWE SmackDown Live Results – November 6, 2018: Jeff Hardy vs. Samoa Joe


Welcome to SmackDown Live.

We begin with Paige making her way to the ring and she has something to say to her native people.  She says it is always good to be home.  She wants everyone’s help to bring out the Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon.


Shane comes out and he does the Shane-O Shuffle before making his way to the ring.

We see footage of how a man not in the tournament won the World Cup.

Paige says that since Shane is the best in the world, we need a picture with the trophy.

Shane says he does not think he is the best in the world because of the talent here.  He says the trophy belongs to Smackdown.  When Miz could not compete, Shane acted on instict and he injected himself into the match and could not see Smackdown not be the superior brand.  Shane mentions we are two weeks away from Survivor Series.

Shane and Paige run through the matches for Survivor Series and announce that the Tag Team Champions will meet.

Shane brings out someone who will lead Smackdown to victory.  Shane brings out the team captain, Daniel Bryan.

Daniel thanks everyone and he thanks Shane for humbly acknowledging that he is not the best in the world.  Daniel says it is an honor to be chosen as the team captain for Smackdown.

Daniel is interrupted by The Miz and he limps to the ring.

Miz says he disagrees with Daniel about Shane being the best in the world.  MIz says he hates that he fought heroically in two matches only to suffer an injury.  He says the trophy is 2/3 his.  He says they are co-best in the world.  Miz asks Shane how would the trophy be split.

Shane reminds Miz that he would have been fired if he lost.

Miz says he has never been so injured he could not wrestle, unlike Daniel.  Miz says he deserves to be the team captain for Smackdown.

Shane says that Miz is right, based on his performance at World Cup.  He says Miz is the captain.  Shane says that Daniel is also the captain.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Daniel and Miz are arguing until Shane shows up.  Shane says he needs a team to bring this home.  He wants people to feel uncomfortable.  He says that Miz and Daniel bring out the best in each other.   Shane says he needs to know the other three members of the team.  Miz says he has his first pick and it is Shane.  Shane tells Miz not to suck up.  Daniel says that he agrees with the Miz.  Nobody has more on the line than Shane.  You showed at the World Cup how much you care about Smackdown.  Miz says he will let Daniel have the next pick.

Match Number One:  Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso versus Big E and Kofi Kingston (with Xavier Woods) in a Who Will Be Captain of the Tag Team Survivor Series Elimination Match Match

Kfoi and Jey start things off and Jey with a side head lock and shoulder tackle.  Kofi goes for a jumping back elbow but Jey catches him.  Kofi lands on his feet and hits a drop kick that sends Jey to the floor.  Jimmy is sent to the floor and Big E tags in.  Kofi fakes a skin the cat and he distracts Jimmy long enough to allow Big E to hit a running shoulder tackle.  Big E gets a near fall on Jey.  Kofi tags in and Kofi leap frogs Big E for a back senton on Jey for a near fall.  Kofi with a wrist lock into an arm bar.

Jey with an Irish whip and Kofi sets for a move off the turnbuckles but Jey kicks Kofi and Kofi lands hard.  Jimmy tags in and they make a wish.  Jimmy with an uppercut and follows with a chop.  Jey tags back in and he hits a clothesline and gets a near fall.  Jimmy tags in and hits a head butt for a near fall.  Jimmy with a reverse chin lock.  Jimmy with a front face lock and he keeps Kofi from making the tag.  Jimmy with an Irish whip that sends Kofi sternum first into the turnbuckles.  Jey tags back in and he kicks Kofi.  Jimmy with a hesitation drop kick into the corner.

Kofi with a leaping double stomp to Jey and both men are down as we watch Sheamus and Cesaro watch in the back.  BIg E and Jimmy tag in and Big E with two overhead belly-to-belly suplexes and follows with a belly-to-belly suplex.  Big E runs into an uppercut.  Jimmy runs into the corner and is greeted with a UranagE from Big E.  Big E goes for the Big Ending but Jey makes the tag and they hit a double enzuigiri.  Jey goes for a splash but Big E gets his knees up and hits the Big Ending for a near fall when Jimmy breaks up the cover.  Kofi makes the bling tag and Big E misses the spear through the ropes.  Big E runs Jimmy into the ringside barrier.  Big E picks up Jey but Jey sends Big E over the barrier into the timekeeper area.

Kofi with a trust fall off the turnbuckles onto Jimmy and Jey.  Kofi sends Jey into the ring and gets a near fall.  Kofi with SOS to Jey for a near fall.  Jey with a punch but Kofi with a kick and he goes up top.  Kofi with a cross body for a near fall.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Kofi with knees to Jey and Kofi sends Jey to the apron but Jimmy makes the tag.  Jimmy and Jey go for a double suplex to the floor but Big E spears Jey through the ropes to the floor.  Kofi with Trouble in Paradise to Jimmy for a near fall.  Kofi with a front face lock and head butt to Jimmy.  Kofi with a chop in the corner.  Kofi puts Jimmy on the turnbuckles and connects with a punch.  Kofi goes for a superplex and Jimmy blocks it.  Jimmy punches and head butts Kofi off the turnbuckles.  Kofi goes up top and Jimmy blocks a Frankensteiner and counters with a super power bomb.

Jimmy goes up top for the splash and hits it for the three count.

Winners:  Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso

After the match, Jimmy says they have been to war many times.  Jey says real recognizes real.  There is not tag division on Smackdown without the Usos and New Day.  Jimmy says that they want the New Day to be the first team to represent Smackdown.
