Welcome to SmackDown Live. There was a recap video package from last week’s SmackDown shown. Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan walked out to the ring to open the show. McMahon welcomed us to the show and said that all week they’ve been talking about how will face Bray Wyatt at WrestleMania. Bryan thinks it should go to Randy Orton while McMahon thinks it should go to AJ Styles. Bryan said that they don’t always agree and thinks that the Royal Rumble winner should main event Mania while McMahon said that no one has ever given up their chance to main event the event after winning the Royal Rumble. McMahon said that Orton’s actions made them have to change things up and booked a battle royal then Styles vs. Luke Harper, which Harper won. They played up a decision they made a week ago, which was strange. They questioned the fans who should get the title match at Mania. Bryan announced Styles vs. Orton for tonight, which was announced last week.
-Commercial Break-
Styles walked up to Bryan and McMahon. He said that he tried to talk them out of this bad idea. Styles told them to be quiet and that he would make the best out of bad situation. He said that he would take out Orton tonight and is not afraid of them.
James Ellsworth stood in the ring and hyped the next match. He said that he beat Styles three times and asked how many times it took for Cena to beat Styles. He said that he would whip the floor with Cena and introduced Carmella.
Mixed Tag Team Match: John Cena & Nikki Bella vs. Carmella & James Ellsworth.
The Miz and Maryse walked down to the ring before the match. Carmella super kicked Bella and that sent us to break.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with Carmella in control of Bella. Moments later, Bella fought back and sent her to the floor. Cena got the hot tag and begged Ellsworth to get in the ring. Carmella forced Ellsworth into the ring and shoved him into Cena. This led to Cena blocking a super kick then hit a side slam. Bella took out Carmella with a forearm shot. Cena and Bella hit the five knuckle shuffle then their submission finishers for the win.
Winners: Cena and Bella.
After the match, Maryse and Miz attacked Cena and Bella.
Miz said that he couldn’t take it anymore and that Cena/Bella disgust him. Miz said that he spends every day with Maryse because he loves her. Miz said true love is not when you ask your girlfriend to sign a contract. Miz said that it wasn’t allowed for Cena – Bella’s relationship to be shown on WWE TV for years but once Cena decided it was okay they have a match. Miz said that Cena found the winning ticket with Bella as they are the same. Miz said that Cena and Bella’s relationship is plastic and spits on all relationship. Maryse told Bella to break that bitch.
Renee Young conducted an interview with Orton backstage. Orton said that no one would stop him from facing Wyatt at WrestleMania. He said that Styles should be very afraid and that he should run.
-Commercial Break-
We see Ambrose searching for Corbin backstage.
Mojo Rawley cut a promo backstage and announced that he would be in the Andre The Giant Memorial battle royal. Dolph Ziggler walked up and said that he has seen a lot of people to Rawley. He said that Rawley has to earn a WrestleMania moment. Rawley asked if that is why Ziggler doesn’t have it.
Corbin attacked Ambrose backstage with a led pipe then dropped the lift on the fork lift onto Ambrose.
-Commercial Break-
Alexa Bliss and Mickie James walked down to the ring. Bliss cut a promo about who she will face at WrestleMania. She said that it won’t be Nikki, Naomi or Becky Lynch. Bliss said that Lynch is like the Chucky doll because she keeps coming back. Bliss said that Lynch should just give up. This led to Lynch walking out and said that she would beat Lynch at Mania and take back her title. This led to Natalya walking out and telling Lynch to step aside. Natalya said that Bliss and her talked last week and came up with a solution. She said that Lynch is not in their league. Bliss said that Natalya was the worst of all time. James told them to shut up and said that they’re ruining Bliss’ moment. James thought that she would face Bliss at Mania. Bliss questioned that and James said that was part of the deal. Lynch brought up beating James twice last week. Natalya said that James should be embarrassed and called her ugly. Bryan walked out and said that Bliss would defend the title against every woman on the SmackDown live roster. Bliss questioned his decision and Bryan said that he can do that. He booked a tag team between the four stars.
-Commercial Break-
Tag Team Match: Mickie James & Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya & Becky Lynch.
Bliss and Natalya started things off. Natalya landed a drop kick. Lynch and James were then tagged in. They lock up and James tagged in Bliss, who worked her over in the corner. Lynch caught a kick and tossed her down then hit a series of elbow strikes. Bliss went to the floor and Lynch took her out with a dive then sent her back into the ring and took out James. This led to James tripping Lynch and Bliss rolling her up for 2.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with James in control of Lynch. James hit a hurricanrana to Lynch. Bliss was tagged in and furthered the beat down. Moments later, Lynch fought back with some clotheslines then hit a side kick. Natalya got in the ring and hit a german suplex to Lynch. Bliss pinned her for the win.
Winner: Bliss & James.
Post-match, James took out Bliss and stood over her with the title.
-Commercial Break-
#1 Contender’s Match: AJ Styles vs. Randy Orton.
They lock up and Orton went for an RKO but Styles blocked it and locked in a headlock. Orton fought out of it and sent him into the corner. Styles fought back but Orton suplexed him on the top rope. Orton sent him to the floor and then hit a back suplex on the barricade. Styles took out the left knee of Orton to cut to break.
