Wrestling Guerrilla has announced that Kyle O’Reilly and Brian Cage have joined
the 2014 PWG Battle of Los Angeles tournament. They join Matt Sydal (the former
Evan Bourne), Drew Gulak, Trevor Lee, Chris Sabin, Johnny Gargano, Brian Myers
(the former Curt Hawkins), Michael Elgin, and Biff Busick. The tournament takes
place August 29th, 30th and 31st.

JaQuan Johnson sent in
this live report from last night’s ROH “Best in the World” pay-per-view
event:

First, I will agree that I feel like ROH should have
selected New York for their first PPV, but I do think the Nashville crowd did a
good to great job with the energy and excitement. Yes, there was a couple of
lull moments, but I think overall we held our own. I attended the show with my
dad and stepmom. This was my stepmom’s first wrestling event EVER. We arrived
about 30 minutes before the show started there were a couple of matches taped
for ROH TV that got the show off to a great start.

Kevin Kelly and Steve
Corino made their entrance at about 6:55. Corino was majorly over with the live
crowd.

A lot of fans were confused with the rules of the first match.
Tommaso Ciampa and ACH were the most over in this match. Everyone wanted to see
ACH fly and when he finally did the crowd popped well.

Jay Lethal vs.
Matt Taven was kind of a let down. The crowd didn’t care about Taven at all and
Lethal did a good job of heeling it up. I agree with Jason that the security
looked like Steve Blackman.

Roderick Strong vs. Cedric Alexander was good
match that saw the right guy win. Strong was very over with the live crowd but
Alexander deserved the win.

The Briscoes vs. Michael Bennett and Matt
Hardy was the spot-fest crazy match we all wanted. Dem Boys were over huge with
the crowd. Hardy played the heel role well. P.S. the fan that threw Matt Hardy’s
shirt back at him was an idiot. Maria was hot ass hell! Hardy took the table
bump like a champ.

Kevin Steen vs. Silas Young kind of disappointed me. I
wanted to see more from these two guys. I’m not saying this was a bad match, but
it could’ve been so much better.

Moose was terrible. Don’t give him a
live mic for another year or two.

Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish vs.
Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian had a good match. I know if these two
teams get more time and matches together that can tear the roof
down.

Michael Elgin vs. Adam Cole was the best match of the night!!!
These two guys worked very hard and very well together. The referee who took the
super kick was awesome. The “we f—ed up” chant was the best one of the night.
We really believed Elgin had won the match on that count. There were some great
near falls in this match. When Elgin finally won, he also won over some of the
crowd who didn’t want to see him win before the match.

Overall a good
show. I can’t wait for ROH to come back to Nashville.
