Us Weekly posted an article over the weekend regarding the ongoing legal drama between Hulk Hogan and Gawker Media over the sex tape clip they posted on their website. The article notes that the judge in the trial ruled on Friday that Hogan and his attorneys cannot use the previous case of ESPN sports reporter Erin Andrews being filmed naked against her knowledge as part of their case.

Hogan and his attorneys claim that he had absolutely no knowledge that he was being filmed while having sex with Heather Clem, the wife of Todd “Bubba the Love Sponge” Clem. They wanted to use some of the evidence from the Erin Andrews case which involved someone filming her in a Tennessee hotel room back in 2008.

Also on Friday, Judge Pamela Campbell granted a motion by Gawker’s lawyers that would exclude any evidence relating to Andrews’ legal situation for the current trial with Hogan. Judge Campbell said that she didn’t want to see any “confusion on the legal issues” at hand. Hogan’s lawyers argued that the situations are similar.

The Hulk Hogan vs. Gawker trial is expected to last about three and a half weeks.
