ECW Mass Transit Incident

Paul Heyman’s Extreme Championship Wrestling was at the center of controversy during a house show in 96. The incident is known as “The Mass Transit Incident”

Eric Kulas was just a 17 year old kid. Somehow one night he convinced Paul E Heyman to allow him to wrestle as cover for Axl Rotten (who had no showed). Kulas lied that he was 19 year’s of age and had been trained by the legendary wrestler Killer Kowalski. He performed as a bus driver gimmick named “Mass Transit”

The Gangstas ‘New Jack’ and ‘Mustapha Saed’ who caught wind Kulas was lying and decided to teach the kid a lesson.
During the match New Jack severely beat Kulas with foreign objects including a toaster. During the match Kulas asked New Jack to blade him since he never had done it himself and New Jack agreed. New Jack used a exacto knife to cut him, but accidentally cut way too deep and severed two arteries in Kulas’s forehead. Kulas immediately passed out as the blood was visably pouring out of his head.

After the incident, The Gangstas proceeded to work Kulas over even more, prompting Eric’s father, to scream, Ring the fucking bell. He’s only 17 for gods sake!

As medics rushed into the ring to help Kulas, New Jack grabbed the house microphone and shouted, “I don’t care if the motherfucker dies! He’s white. I don’t like white people. I don’t like people from Boston. I’m the wrong nigger to fuck with.

New Jack was later tried on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and was later sued by the 17 year olds family.
After hearing about Eric Kulas’s request to New Jack to make him bleed, a jury acquitted NJ of all charges.

Sid Vicious Breaks His Leg In Two

Sid Vicious was in a fatal-4-way type match when this accident happened during a move off the top rope. Considering his size of 6ft 9 Sid doing anything off the top rope was unthinkable.

But WCW officials wanted something different from Sid, a good spot. So they asked him to do a move from the top rope. Sid at first was reluctant.

After some sweet talk he decided to do the high spot. Sid climbed shakily to the top rope, then proceeded to jump and gave Scott Steiner a boot to the face.

Sid’s landing was terrible and his leg snapped in two. Sid suffered a compound fracture.
A compound fracture is when the bones are broken so severely that they break through the skin. Sid had a steel rod implanted in his leg to fix the broken bones.

Owen Hart Breaks Steve Austins Neck At SummerSlam 97

The Stone Cold Steve Austin era had begun and was in full effect. That effect was abrutly stoped after Owen Hart accidentally broke Austins neck.

Half way through the PPV match, Owen was to deliver a spike pile-driver to Austin. But Austin’s head position was below Owen’s knees. Looking back now, you would have thought one of these two would know the set-up was wrong.

Owen hit the move and spiked Steve Austin head into the mat. Austin was left with a broken neck and temporary paralysis. Amazingly, though, Hart stuck to the script, stalling for time so that Austin could move again, and letting Austin sneak in for a roll-up pin to win. Austin went on to greatness although he never wrestled the same again.

(If you guy’s or gals feel like I missed some injuries. Let me know in the comments section below, and if I get enough, I will make another list.)
