What is up one and all!? This is a new, hopefully weekly, editorial from yours truly, and a new editorialist for EWN, Dennis Jonasson. In this editorial we will discuss different topics going on in wrestling today. So let’s get straight into it!

What Do You Think We Will See In The Royal Rumble Match?

Dennis: The Rumble match has always been one of my favorites. We know some obvious things are going to happen in this rumble because they seem to happen in every other rumble match.

There is going to be a return or two. As smarks both you and I are well aware this is the case. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Sheamus is a possibility. A few legends will make their way down to the ring too. Maybe we will see someone like Hogan take a shot at the rumble, who knows?

We also know we are also going to see a dominate competitor. Big E Langston and Roman Reigns are two people to look out for. Both men are getting pushed heavily by WWE right now. If they enter the match, I expect to see quick eliminations. Though I expect neither of them has a real shot at winning the rumble; this could be a big match for both of them.

But at the end of the day I see only one man winning the rumble and that is C.M. Punk. Punk has been out of the title scene for a while now and he has been on quite the role as of late. Some might say that Batista has a real shot at winning this thing but I truly believe that Punk is the favorite to win this match and go on to headline Wrestlemania.

Kale: I agree with Dennis. There will be a return or two, and sure, I could go with the obvious choices of Sheamus or Christian. Instead I am going to go in a different direction. I think we will see someone like John Morrison or Carlito. I think some of the other surprises we will see will be Jake the Snake, Hacksaw Jim Duggan, and someone from NXT.

I also agree with Dennis in that we will see someone enter the Rumble and dominate. I’m going with Reigns, and I am going to make a bold statement. Kane holds the record of 11 eliminations in one match, and I think Reigns will beat that this year.

The final thing to consider is the winner. My money is on CM Punk, if and only if one thing happens. If Daniel Bryan is not in the Rumble, I think Punk will walk away with the win. If the WWE decides to put Daniel in the rumble, I think he will walk away the winner. The WWE recently changed their storyline plans because of the Yes chant during the one football game. This is just one example of how over Bryan is. I really hope Bryan wins the rumble.

Who Will Face The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30?

Kale: I could go with the obvious answer of John Cena or Brock Lesnar, but I’m going to go in a different direction for a second. I think it could be Daniel Bryan. I could see this happening. I could see Daniel Bryan winning the Rumble, and then shortly after, Taker returns and makes an offer to Bryan. Basically he would state that he has seen how massive Bryan has got, so Taker wants to offer him a chance to do something no one else has been able to, beat him at WM. Bryan then has to make the choice between his title shot, or facing Taker.

I know the first scenario is not extremely likely, but anything is possible with the WWE. The more likely scenario is John Cena. It’s Wrestlemania 30. Cena is facing Orton at the Rumble for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, so it is unlikely we will see him in the title match at Wrestlemania(but still possible, never discount the craziness of WWE creative). I could see this being Cena’s year to face Taker, especially if it will be Takers last WM.

Dennis: While Bear might not have wanted to go with the obvious answer, I have no problem with it. Taker has become the biggest attraction for Wrestlemania nowadays. WWE is trying to make the general populous feel like this is bigger than any other Wrestlemania before it. So with that knowledge the smart money is on the current number one contender for the world title, John Cena.

We are all pretty sure that Randy Orton is going to retain the world title at the Royal Rumble. What else is there for Cena to do if he doesn’t face taker? John Cena needs a big match for the biggest stage, and there isn’t a bigger match than facing Taker.

John Cena is the biggest draw of this generation, there is no denying that. If you want a big match at this historic occasion you give the fans what they want. The biggest draw in the history of Wrestlemania should go one on one with the top dog in today’s WWE, John Cena.

What Are Your Thoughts On Hulk Hogan and Sting possibly coming to the WWE?

Dennis: Hulk Hogan and Sting are two legends of this industry. Both men have illustrious careers and there is no denying that. I do however feel that both are past their prime what leads me to question if I’d actually want to see them in a WWE ring if that were an option today. To avoid confusion I’ll talk about both men separately.

Sting is an icon of this industry, pun intended. He is a wrestler who has constantly flirted with the idea of actually stepping foot in a WWE ring. While I do think he’s a bit past his prime, I’d actually still very much like to see him wrestle in the WWE. Sting meant so much to WCW, he was their guy. It almost feels like it could close a chapter if Sting were to somehow make it into a WWE ring. Could you imagine how awesome it would be if number 30 of the royal rumble was Sting!? The crowd would go absolutely nuts.

With Hulk Hogan on the other hand, I’m not so certain he should return. Don’t get me wrong, I can see the appeal of him coming back to sell one last pay-per-view. He’s a big name and having him at Wrestlemania 30 could be epic but it shouldn’t be anything more than that. He shouldn’t come back and steal the limelight from younger talent. He has had his days in the sun in WWE. I think it is time to allow the new guys to get their time in the sun.

Kale: I’m going to take the same route as my pal Dennis, and look at each separately.

Sting is a legend. He is one of the few to have such a massive career without stepping into the WWE. People might think Sting is past his prime and needs to work with young people to put on a good match, I still think he has the ability to go in the ring. I’m going to one up what Dennis said. Imagine Taker coming into the Rumble match and eliminates everyone there, and he is the only guy. We are at entrant #20, and the clock ticks down. It hits one, and the lights go out, and when they come back on, Sting is in the ring face to face with Taker. Imagine the reaction that would get. Imagine the goose bumps people ALL over the world would feel. I think if there is a time for Sting to come to the WWE, it’s finally now, as we head towards WM 30.

As for Dennis, I disagree. I think Hogan should return. One of my first memories of wrestling was when Brock Lesnar faced Hulk Hogan and had him in a bear hug and squeezed him to the point that he was bleeding from the mouth. At the time I had just gotten into wrestling and was younger so I believed it. Fast forward a few months and Hogan comes back to face The Rock and then Vince McMahon. Sure Hogan can’t go in the ring anymore, but that isn’t what he is meant for now. He is meant for nostalgia. Those feel good moments of here his theme music, seeing fans wearing red and yellow. If this was any other Wrestlemania, I might agree with Dennis, but with this being Wrestlemania 30…I really hope Hogan comes back.

And with that folks, is a wrap on the first joint editorial from us. Dennis and I both look forward to your comments and thoughts. If you have a topic you’d like to see us touch on, feel free to throw it out in the comments section below. Thanks for taking the time to read!
