NXT Season 2 Elimination 4: Percy Watson

The fourth individual to be eliminated from the competition was former professional football player – Percy Watson. Watson was accompanied by WWE pro Montel Vontavious Porter. In his first NXT match, on June 8, 2010, Watson and Porter would defeat Cody Rhodes and Husky Harris in tag team competition. Watson would amass a record of three wins and four losses during his time on NXT.

Following his elimination from the contest in Week 11, Watson would continue to work dark matches for the company. On September 8, 2010, Watson would team alongside Titus O’Neil on an episode of WWE Superstars, losing to Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks in the process. This team with O’Neil would continue until the pair’s inevitable split and feud, which Watson would win. Throughout the next few years, Watson would remain as enhancement talent for WWE. He would be released on May 17, 2013.

After his release, he would make his debut on the independent circuit, wrestling primarily for Universal Championship Wrestling in Georgia. Watson would go on to take a two-year leave of absence from the industry. However, on November 30, 2016, Watson would return to NXT as the third man in the broadcast booth alongside Tom Phillips and Corey Graves. He would remain in this position until 2018, where he would also join Vic Joseph on WWE 205 Live and WWE Main Event. He would remain on the team until May 2019, when it was reported that Watson would be departing World Wrestling Entertainment to pursue passions outside of the wrestling industry.

As of this writing, Watson’s final wrestling appearance took place at the Free The Narrative pay-per-view event where he – as “The Unknown Hand” – defeated Jake Logan on May 27, 2021. You can find Watson residing in Wilmington, North Carolina, focusing on his acting career.
