NXT Season 2 Elimination 5: Husky Harris

The fifth individual to be eliminated from NXT was “The Army Tank With a Ferrari Engine” – Husky Harris. Harris was accompanied by WWE pro Cody Rhodes. In his first NXT match, on June 8, 2010, Cody Rhodes and Husky Harris would lose to the aforementioned team of Percy Watson and Montel Vontavious Porter in tag team competition. Harris would amass a record of four wins and four losses during his time on NXT.

After his elimination from NXT, Harris would appear (in disguise) at the WWE Hell in a Cell 2010 event alongside Michael McGillicutty to interfere in a match between John Cena and Wade Barrett. The stipulation for this match led to John Cena joining The Nexus. Harris and McGillicutty would be revealed on the following episode of WWE Raw, though Barrett admitted that he had not asked for the help and refused to make them members of The Nexus. This led to Harris and McGillicutty fighting for opportunities to join The Nexus, which would they lose. Despite this, the pair would be added to the group. Husky Harris would be written off of television in 2011 after a punt to the head courtesy of Randy Orton.

Following this, Harris would be sent to FCW to be repackaged as a hockey mask-wearing Axl Mulligan, who aligned himself with Eli Cottonwood. He would have moderate success in FCW, remaining in the promotion during its rebrand to modern-day NXT.

In July 2012, Mulligan would debut the “Bray Wyatt” character at Full Sail University, where he would defeat Aiden English. Less than one year later, Bray Wyatt and his team of brutish, sinister beings (dubbed The Wyatt Family) would make their debuts on WWE Raw. For years, this group would reign (in different formats) over the WWE universe. Wyatt would go on to win the WWE Championship, WWE Universal Championship, WWE Raw Tag Team Championship, and WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship during his time in the company.

Wyatt would wrestle his final match at WWE WrestleMania 37 in a losing effort to Randy Orton. On July 31, 2021, WWE would officially release Bray Wyatt from his contract, leaving the wrestling community wondering where he may end up next.
