Typically, if there’s an elongated gag or comedy spot or anything like a runner, WWE books it in the first half of the match. In theory, he could be the guy who comes in at #3 after Lesnar is taken out so that he can do his countdown for the next bunch of people, taking out a few. Then, once the joke is done after a few, he can just stick around like any normal person.
It’s a stretch, I know. But everything with this year’s Royal Rumble revolves around what WWE’s plans are for Lesnar. That can make this one of the craziest booked battle royal matches we’ve ever seen, so nothing is off the table.
BONUS: Who will have the shortest time?
As I fully expect Lesnar to just dominate and toss people out within 90 seconds for a good majority of this match, I think nearly everyone is going to have a rough time and not last all that long. That means even people who could normally have a good run, like a Cesaro, could be total fodder.
This is a complete crap shoot of a guess. I don’t think there’s any way of properly judging the shortest time this year. However, for the sake of picking a name, I’m going with Mustafa Ali. That is in no way a slight at him, as I’m a fan and wish he was in a better spot. I just think he’s going to draw the short straw out of pure bad luck and jump in, get caught, and get dumped out.
Those are my picks, but what do you think? Tell us your predictions in the comments below!
