WWE Crown Jewel 2021 Preview: Full Card, Match Predictions & More

Notable Superstars Missing from the Card

Note: This is not a full list of everyone on the roster who is not scheduled for the show. It excludes some people who wouldn’t have normally been expected to appear on the show for some fashion, such as some jobbers, injured talent, etc.

King of the Ring & Queen’s Crown Tournament Losers = It’s as good of a reasoning as any for someone not to be on the card if they lost their matches in these two tournaments.

Austin Theory / Jeff Hardy = This feud is something to play out on Raw, rather than give a pay-per-view spot to. I’m perfectly okay with that. How about you?

The Street Profits = Having just wrestled The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Championship on Supersized SmackDown and being drafted over to Raw, what could they feasibly do on this card that would make any sense? Sitting this out is okay.

The Hurt Business = Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin and even possibly the injured MVP could appear to help out Bobby Lashley in the No Holds Barred match, but I don’t think that will be the case. They’re not needed and if WWE is looking to save as much money as possible, that’s three flights they don’t need to worry about.

Lingering Raw Superstars = Alpha Academy, Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez, Dirty Dawgs, Jaxson Ryker, John Morrison, T-Bar and Veer are all people who are either staying on Raw or moving over and haven’t really started anything yet, or are in a period of transition like T-Bar and Veer splitting from their tag teams.

Damian Priest = Nothing for the United States champion? I guess he’s in a holding pattern until they can start doing the stuff for Survivor Series where he’ll face the intercontinental champion.

24/7 Championship People = I highly doubt they’ll spend any time focusing on Reggie, Drake Maverick, Akira Tozawa and R-Truth chasing each other around.

Karrion Kross = Kross has been pushed aside the past few weeks. Are they retooling his character and getting rid of that dumb gear, or just have nothing for him to do until the draft takes effect?

Keith Lee = WWE seems to only want to use this guy on dark matches. What gives?

The Rest of the Women’s Division = Alexa Bliss, Aliyah, Charlotte Flair, Mia Yim, Naomi, Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley, Shotzi Blackheart, Sonya Deville, Tamina, Tegan Nox and Xia Li are all off the card. While we’re getting more women on there than ever before, and none of these Superstars have anything worthwhile to do on the card anyway except if they had done Naomi vs. Deville here, it’s still a shame to see so many people with no feuds or storylines worth putting on the card.

Lingering SmackDown Superstars = WWE is very much waiting for the draft roster changes to start before bringing Hit Row onto SmackDown. People like Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo, Drew Gulak, The Viking Raiders, Mace, Ridge Holland, Shanky and Sheamus are just in a holding pattern, it seems.

Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss / Kevin Owens = This feud keeps continuing, but it has no momentum to it.

The Usos = While they might make an appearance to help Roman Reigns, I don’t even think that’s necessary. WWE could save on two flights and they’re looking for every means to save money.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Rick Boogs = Considering their last appearance was interrupting Corbin and Moss just for The Street Profits to come out and wrestle The Usos, I’d say it’s pretty much confirmed WWE has no idea what to do with Nakamura and the Intercontinental Championship until at least the roster changes start.
