WWE Superstar Spectacle 2023 Predictions

WWE Superstar Spectacle 2023 is coming up this Friday. Instead of a pay-per-view, this will seemingly just be a non-televised live event house show for the crowd inside Gachibowl Indoor Stadium.

Nevertheless, who is scheduled for the card? Which Superstars stand the best chances to win?

Let’s break down some predictions for WWE’s most random “special event” of the year.

EVENT INFORMATION

Date: Friday, September 8, 2023

Start Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: G.M.C. Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad, India

MATCH CARD & PREDICTIONS

(as currently advertised; card is always subject to change)

TAG TEAM MATCH:
John Cena and Seth Rollins vs. Imperium (Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser)

Prediction: John Cena and Seth Rollins win.

Thoughts: No Gunther in this match is very telling. Obviously, Vinci and Kaiser can take pinfalls without hurting Gunther, even if he were in the match. But for him to not be there at all seals the deal even more that Imperium is losing this. Of course, that should have been obvious from just seeing that this is the world heavyweight champion teaming with Cena, of all people. Clearly, WWE isn’t going to put those two in the match, pop the crowd like crazy, and then have a surprise upset for Imperium. This is a main event that ends the show with a happy crowd as Cena and Rollins celebrate.

WOMEN’S WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Natalya

Prediction: Rhea Ripley wins.

Thoughts: Good lord. If this were a traditional Heat Index preview where I’d give my level of hype for a match, this would be the absolute bottom option of Freezing. These two had their matches before, where Ripley absolutely squashed Nattie. After several weeks of being separated from that, with ZERO momentum to put Natalya back into the title hunt, why is this on the card? My guess is WWE just needed a fresh body for Ripley to beat, didn’t want to waste any other Superstars, thought this would be neat for Nattie to do, and that’s that. Realistically, it should be a rematch with Raquel Rodriguez to piggyback off the heat from Payback, but WWE is doing that on television. This match screams of “it doesn’t really matter. Just be happy you get to go to the show in general.”

WWE UNDISPUTED TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH:
The Judgment Day’s Damian Priest and Finn Balor (c) vs. Indus Sher (Sanga and Veer Mahan with Jinder Mahal)

Prediction: The Judgment Day retains.

Thoughts: This is interesting to me. Technically, this should be two heel teams against each other, as Indus Sher have done nothing to turn babyface. However, since they will be in India, Sanga and Veer will be the default babyfaces of this match. That might mean this will end with Indus Sher being victorious, even if it is through a disqualification or count-out. However, it wouldn’t be the absolute craziest thing in the world if the titles did change hands. That would get a huge pop, give WWE something to say how they justified doing this program, and convince other outlets that if they want to pay for these events, they’ll for sure get something

out of it. Still, that’s a stretch to say the titles will change hands. A slight possibility is better than nothing, but I’m going with the champions retaining their titles, even if they technically lose the match. They JUST won them at Payback. To lose now on an non-televised event to Indus Sher, who hasn’t been built up at all since rejoining the Raw roster, would surprise me.
