WWE Survivor Series 2021 Preview: Full Card, Match Predictions & More

Match Predictions and Heat Index Anticipation Levels

Temperature Scale = Scorching > Hot > Lukewarm > Temperate > Chilly > Cold > Freezing

Heat Index is my assessment of how interesting the segment is, including how excited I am for the match and how intriguing the feud has been. The hotter, the better. Scorching translates to not being able to wait to see it, while Freezing means I couldn’t possibly care less and think it will be awful.

MEN’S 5-ON-5 TRADITIONAL ELIMINATION MATCH:
Team Raw (Austin Theory, Bobby Lashley, Finn Balor, Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins) vs. Team SmackDown (Drew McIntyre, Happy Corbin, Jeff Hardy, King Xavier Woods and Sheamus)

Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: Team SmackDown wins.

Thoughts: Imagine how stacked these teams could have been had WWE not fired something like 80 people this year. With that being said, I still like all these people. The match means nothing at all, and I’m sure there will be some massive WTF moments of people being eliminated super fast, but Survivor Series has a baked-in level of excitement and I’m interested to see what happens. Let’s go with Team SmackDown just so Drew McIntyre can be a sole survivor and look strong in preparation to fighting Roman Reigns down the line at Day 1 or Royal Rumble.

WOMEN’S 5-ON-5 TRADITIONAL ELIMINATION MATCH:
Team Raw (Bianca Belair, Carmella, Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley and Queen Zelina Vega) vs. Team SmackDown (Natalya, Sasha Banks, Shayna Baszler, Shotzi and Toni Storm)

Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: Team Raw wins.

Thoughts: Since I’m going with Team SmackDown for the men, I’ll just go with Team Raw for the women, if not just for the pure sake of it being the opposite. I’m less excited to see this as the men’s match, but I’m fond of all the women here, too, so it’s not as though I won’t enjoy it. At least, I’m hoping I’ll enjoy it. It’s hard to screw something like this up, even though WWE has managed to find a way in years past.

CHAMPION VS CHAMPION MATCH:
Big E vs. Roman Reigns

Heat Index = Lukewarm
Prediction: Roman Reigns wins.

Thoughts: Sorry, all my fellow fans of Big E. There is absolutely no chance he wins this match unless it’s by disqualification. However, given how much emphasis WWE has put on making Roman Reigns the absolute top champion, they wouldn’t have any doubt about that in this match. Even if there’s interference or something along those lines, it’ll happen with a distracted referee so it will lead to the inevitable pinfall from Reigns. The match should be decent, but I don’t think it’ll be some Match of the Year candidate.

CHAMPION VS CHAMPION MATCH:
Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair

Heat Index = Chilly
Prediction: Becky Lynch wins.

Thoughts: Are Lynch and Flair two of the top of the line in the women’s division’s entire history? Yes. Are they fantastic performers? Obviously. However, I’ve seen this match a million times before, so forgive me if I’m not bouncing off the walls excited to see it again.

CHAMPION VS CHAMPION MATCH:
RK-Bro vs. The Usos

Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: The Usos win.

Thoughts: I’d imagine this will be one of the better matches of the night. Both teams are great and can work a different style than the other fights we’ll see on this card. The winner isn’t outright obvious, either. I could imagine a scenario of either side coming out victorious. I’ll give an edge to The Usos so SmackDown gets the overall better score, but I wouldn’t be shocked at all if this ends with an RKO.

CHAMPION VS CHAMPION MATCH:
Damian Priest vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Heat Index = Hot
Prediction: Damian Priest wins.

Thoughts: I’m surprised Shinsuke Nakamura is still champion, to be honest. That’s not a knock on him, but a backwards prediction on how they normally change at least one champion ahead of time and how he was the most likely option to be replaced. With that being said, that plus Damian Priest’s impressive win-loss record for this year makes me certain The Archer of Infamy is coming out on top. This match should be fun, too. I’m looking forward to it.

BATTLE ROYAL MATCH:
AJ Styles, Angel Garza, Angelo Dawkins, Apollo Crews, Cedric Alexander, Cesaro, Chad Gable, Commander Azeez, Dolph Ziggler, Drew Gulak, Erik, Humberto Carrillo, Ivar, Jinder Mahal, Mansoor, Montez Ford, Omos, Otis, R-Truth, Ricochet, Robert Roode, Sami Zayn, Shanky, Shelton Benjamin, T-Bar

Heat Index = Lukewarm
Prediction: AJ Styles wins.

Thoughts: While I know full well this match means absolutely nothing, I enjoy battle royals. I’m sure the segment will be interesting enough for my tastes and I’m curious who will win. I’m taking a total shot in the dark on the winner, as it doesn’t matter and I doubt WWE has given this more than a few seconds of thought, particularly with how chaotic everything has been in the company as of late.

OVERALL PPV:
How excited am I for the event as a whole?

Heat Index = Lukewarm

Thoughts: I should be Hot about this, but all the releases and the total madhouse of WWE Creative for the past year has made this hard to get fully invested in. You can tell WWE is going through the motions and has no real ability to sit down, plan things out and make this as worthwhile as it could be. This SHOULD be one of the most important events of the year and something we’re all super pumped about. Instead, it’s something that should be a good show, but an ultimately meaningless one that may be a complete creative mess. That’s scary to think about.
