WWE WrestleMania XL
Highlights:
- It was the first WrestleMania under the TKO/Endeavor banner, the first to be creatively lead by Triple H with no outside influence, and the first to not include any direct involvement of the McMahon Family; except for Stephanie McMahon’s guest appearance.
- WrestleMania XL may be the last to stream on the WWE Network, which is due to end shortly before WWE moves its programming to Netflix in January 2025.
- Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes became the first two WWE Superstars to main event both night 1 and 2 of a WrestleMania event. On night 1, The Rock wrestled his first full match since WrestleMania 29 in 2013. Seth Rollins worked in the main event of night 1, and the opening match of night 2.
- Many titles changed hands, including the end of Roman Reigns’ historic 1,316 day Undisputed Universal Championship reign. Other champions to lose their titles include Gunther, Iyo Sky, The Judgment Day, Seth Rollins, and Drew McIntyre (after defeating Rollins, Damian Priest cashed in Money In The Bank).
- Rhea Ripley and Logan Paul retained their championships, while the Kabuki Warriors’ Women’s Tag Team Championshio was not contested.
- Guest celebrity appearances included Snoop Dogg, Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, IShowSpeed (with Logan Paul), Lil Wayne, Coco Jones, The War & Treaty, and several more.
- There were many commercials and product placements, along with a print of a Prime bottle in the middle of the ring, and a cart of Prime bottles at ringside.
- There were many special entrances on both nights. Brandi Rhodes made her return to WWE programming by joining her husband Cody during his entrance.
- During the main event, Jimmy Uso’s interference was stopped by Jey Uso. Solo Sikoa’s interference was stopped by John Cena. The Rock appeared to Rock Bottom John Cena. Then, The Undertaker shocked everyone by showing up to Chokeslam The Rock. This left Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes to finish their match on equal terms. After Cody Rhodes defeated him, his family and many WWE Superstars entered the ring to celebrate the historic victory. Cody Rhodes asked for Bruce Prichard and Triple H to join them.
- Brock Lesnar and CM Punk were originally scheduled for matches, but Lesnar was pulled after being linked with Vince McMahon’s sex allegations, and CM Punk was not cleared after suffering an injury in the Royal Rumble match.
