On Tuesday, SANADA won the NJPW New Japan Cup 2023 tournament by defeating David Finlay in the finals.
The finish saw SANADA pick up the victory with his modified DDT. Due to the win, SANADA has earned the right to challenge Kazuchika Okada for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship at NJPW Sakura Genesis.
To make it to the finals, SANADA defeated Taichi, KENTA, Naito, and Mark Davis.
