All Japan announced that Akebono will be unable to compete for the rest of the Champion Carnival due to an emergency admission to a hospital in Tokyo for a “worsening physical condition”. The Triple Crown Champion appeared to have improved following a case of pneumonia that caused him to have to miss shows in late March, but it now that doesn’t seem to be the case in the long run.
Akebono’s remaining matches in the Champion Carnival tour have all been changed to due to his absence. With anyone who was set to face Akebono gaining 2 points due to him being unable to compete.
