During an appearance on Wednesday’s episode of WWE’s “The Bump,” Dakota Kai revealed that her return to WWE at SummerSlam was put together at the very last minute. That is in fact true.
According to a report from Pwinsider, WWE filed to trademark Iyo Sky on July 31, which was just one day after SummerSlam. Usually, WWE trademarks new ring names well in advance of the talent debuting or returning.
While Bayley was originally planned for SummerSlam prior to the recent management changes, there weren’t any solid plans in place for what she’d be doing at the pay-per-view event.
Kai’s deal was reportedly put together at the last minute. The former WWE NXT 2.0 star didn’t arrive in Nashville, TN until the night before the pay-per-view event. Additionally, she was kept hidden inside a bus so her return didn’t leak out.
