As we reported earlier this week here on eWn, AEW World Champion CM Punk underwent successful surgery for an injury. While All Elite Wrestling said the surgery took place on his “lower leg,” it’s believed to be a broken foot.
According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, when the doctors cut open the foot to perform the surgery, they found that the injuries to the bones were worse than originally thought. Despite this, it was still considered a successful surgery and everything was repaired.
As of this writing, there is no word on when CM Punk will be returning but it’s expected to be by the end of the year.
