As reported yesterday here on eWrestlingNews.com, Jack Swagger recently appeared on Chael Sonnen’s podcast and revealed that he had requested his release from WWE. Swagger noted that WWE didn’t value him at what he felt he was worth and said it was time to leave when contract negotiations were not in his favor. He said, “They were way off, and they didn’t value me at what I thought I was valued at,”
With that being said, we can report that Swagger is still a WWE employee as of this writing as WWE officials have not granted his release yet. There is no word on if they are keeping him “locked up” until his current WWE contract expires or if they will let him go sooner than that.
