During Sunday night’s WWE Fastlane pay-per-view event, Braun Strowman defeated Elias in a squash match. Originally, the match was supposed to be Strowman vs. Shane McMahon, but Shane “injured” himself while preparing for the match tonight. During a backstage segment, Elias approached Shane about performing at WrestleMania 37 and said he would do “anything” to be on that card. Shane told Elias maybe there was a way and that he had an idea. Ultimately, Elias would replace Shane tonight for this match as per Shane’s “idea”.
