Current WWE Plans For Gable Steveson

Gable Steveson signed an “exclusive agreement” with WWE earlier this week, which came just over a month after he won Olympic gold in Men’s Freestyle wrestling in the 125kg weight class.

Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Steveson will be returning to the University of Minnesota to go for his second NCAA championship.

WWE is already paying him a “substantial amount” this year, and he will be introduced as a TV character in addition to helping to promote the brand while still in college.

WWE also plans to set up a training facility in Minnesota so he can train there while still at college. He will also go  to the Performance Center in Orlando a few times during the year.

The idea is for him to be full-time in WWE by May 2022, after the NCAA tournament and after he’s finished college.
