D-Von Dudley Addresses His Departure From WWE

On January 19, 2023, WWE Hall of Famer D-Von Dudley announced his departure from WWE via Twitter. Dudley also stated that it was a mutual decision between himself and WWE.

D-Von had been working as an NXT trainer since June 2022 and as a producer for the company since 2016. Following his departure from WWE, he sent a four-word message to his former tag team partner Bully Ray on Twitter: “Oh my brother……. Testify !!!!!!!”

The two have a long history together, having won tag team titles across several top promotions in the United States and being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

While speaking to Steve Fall, D-Von explained his departure from WWE, noting that it was time for him to venture into other territories.

You can check out some highlights from the podcast below:

On his WWE exit: “Well you know, a friend of mine a once-wise man once said, ‘Everything has an expiration date. Regardless if it’s going so good or not, everything has an expiration date… even jobs. You know, you’re not dealing with a job forever either. You walk away, you get fired or you retire. Everything happens for a reason. There were just certain things and I can’t really get into detail with it. But you know, you would agree to disagree on certain things and that’s what it was. And I think it was just time to move on and to do something else.”

On his other ventures: “I have a detailing business in Florida. I have a [wrestling] academy, you know, in Winter Park. I thought maybe it was just best that I concentrate on those things, and to move on.”
