In a recent interview with Gabby AF, Deonna Purrazzo expressed her desire to face IYO SKY and Rhea Ripley in WWE.
Purrazzo will be a free agent in January after her TNA deal expires, and the former Knockouts Champion has had “great conversations with people all across the board.”
Purrazzo said, “That’s tough. Rhea or IYO, right? I wish I could choose both. I wrestled Rhea a ton of times, just on the NXT house show loops. We wrestled for the NXT UK Championship in the main event of an NXT UK, where Rhea defeated me [laughs], so I feel like there’s that, of we know each other very well, but then there’s also IYO, who I’ve wrestled in Japan a ton. We actually were in the same PC class at the same time, July 2018. So we came in together, and I feel like that would be a really cool story to tell too, I’d like, look what you’ve gone on to do while you stayed in WWE, and I had to leave and redeem myself a little bit, and now I’m coming back for your championship. I feel like that’s a really cool story. So I feel like my answer’s IYO.”
Free agent Mustafa Ali recently announced a world tour with matches in GCW, PROGRESS, Prestige, and more.
The match in Prestige will be against Impact Wrestling star ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey.
In a video posted on YouTube, Bailey issued a warning to Ali. He said,
“This is a fantastic-looking promo. The video looks absolutely amazing. I love the message, right? These are things that need to be said, but the independents aren’t what they were when he left. There’s plenty of highly competent leaders,” said Bailey. “What you have now in American independent wrestling is a scene that is built on everyone trying their best to just help each other out and help elevate each other and that’s what I personally have been doing. That’s what I know guys like Alex Shelley, El Hijo del Vikingo, Will Ospreay [have] been doing, a lot of people have been doing. If what Mustafa Ali wants to do is come in and just put himself to the test, and show that he can still hang with some of the best wrestlers in the world, he is more than welcome to do that,” he continued. “I will accept him with open arms, and we will have a great fun match for everyone to see on February 25, at PRESTIGE, but if he thinks that he’s going to somehow remove everyone that’s on top, like me, from the scene and just take our place and position himself as the leader for good. I think he’s got another thing coming… I wish Mustafa Ali the best of luck on his World Tour and I just hope that his heart is in fact, in the right place.”
