As previously reported here on eWN, Drake Maverick was one of the individuals released from WWE on April 15 due to company-wide cuts brought on by COVID-19.
Recently, Maverick has continued to participate in NXT’s tournament to determine the interim Cruiserweight Champion. As seen during this week’s episode of NXT, Maverick was defeated by El Hijo del Fantasma in the finals.
After the match, Triple H met Maverick on stage as he was waving goodbye to the crowd and offered him an NXT contract. Maverick signed the contract to end the show. You can check out a video below:
