ESPN Honoring WWE As “Sports Humanitarian League Champion”

Despite all the controversy surrounding Vince McMahon and the change in leadership, WWE is being recognized at a major ceremony.

ESPN has announced that WWE will receive the “Sports Humanitarian League Champion” award for their community work. The major sports network announced via social media that WWE is being recognized for “its commitment to bring communities together by giving back.”

Stephanie McMahon, who took over the CEO role amidst the Vince McMahon allegations, reacted to the announcement on social media.

McMahon wrote:

“At our very core, @WWE’s mission is to put smiles on faces the world over. I am so proud of the work @WWECommunity continues to do every day to change lives through service. Thank you for this incredible honor, @ESPNCitizenship!”

WWE is one of many multiple sports leagues and governing bodies to sponsor the Sports Humanitarian Awards. This year, the awards will combine with The 2022 ESPYS

and will air live on July 20th on ABC.
