Former WWE Superstar and current MMA fighter Jake Hager defeated TJ Jones via submission in the first round at Bellator 221.
However, he drew the ire of not only the audience but the referee as well after refusing to give up the choke after Jones tapped out.
Jake Hager had the following post match comments:
”I meant no disrespect, but you’re going to have to make me stop. I thought the referee was him. You all can boo me all you want, but you’re not in here right now. … I knew once I got on top, he’s not getting up.”
