John Cena posted the following photo to his Instagram account on Wednesday, showing Jon “Dean Ambrose” Moxley’s high-school photo.
On Tuesday night, WWE confirmed that Ambrose is planning to leave the promotion when his contract expires in April. This is not a “work” by any means and Ambrose is legitimately leaving the company as he’s been frustrated with his character direction for over a year now. Numerous other WWE Superstars have also recently asked for their releases and much of them have to do with the pending launch of AEW (All Elite Wrestling) and talents simply being frustrated.
Cena and Ambrose have faced each other and been rivals in the past in WWE.
